Well, it's almost time for 2nd Northside Festival , during which The L Magazine takes over the Williamsburg and Greenpoint music venues for a few days. The Northside Festival will feature over 300 bands this year. Some relatively big names are playing ( Liars , The Fiery Furnaces , Fucked Up , Polvo ). Underwater People s are fantastic label. I have their last compilation which just came in the mail this weekend along with the Real Estate Live on the Radio LP. Once again they have made a new compilation which you can get for free (for a limited time...and I can't imagine it will be that much longer) at the awesome Chocolate Bobka . Don't sleep on this one! It's been a while since I've lost sleep in anticipation of Christmas Day goodies. As a kid, thoughts of the Transformers Dinobots and Legos were usually the culprit. Dana Jewell , at the throne of the Wild Animal Kingdom , has lit my inbox up with several shiny gems. First of all, "This Land pt. 33, a new track forming a trilogy to Liam the Younger 's "This Land pts. 1&23 which follows the same life on the run plain.
