L'attesa per il ritorno in Italia di Daniel Johnston è finita, il celebre autore americano suonerà, in data unica, il 23 Aprile al Piper di Roma. Daniel Johnston unica data pubblicato su Indie For BUNNIES
Taking in a show at the Masonic Lodge located within the famed Hollywood Forever Cemetery is always a treat. It's a small room seating roughly 200, with tall ceilings, two hanging chandeliers and seated cushioned benches to the side. To keep it a little more hip, the walls feature film posters like A Clockwork Orange, [...]

Daniel Johnston has announced that he'll be heading to Brighton this Spring for a special show at St. Bartholomew's Church. The show, which takes place on April 16th, is hosted by those folks over at One Inch Badge, who've promised that the legendary figure will be supported by some 'very special guests'. We assume the show will form part of a European tour, though no details have been announced yet.

Tweet Victor Florence 's " Winter " showcases everything that's right, and everything I love, about music. There is no tracking, no over-processed "Traditional" sounding vocals, just a song that's delivered with amazing clarity and purpose without anything being sold... You get a valid image of Victor Florence while listening to this song, each line passive and clear and perfect. This whole "no monsters, no magic" style carries a lot of weight with me. We scour the web to bring you the freshest and shiniest new tracks we can find from our little niche in the blogoshpere, but sometimes it's just as important to look back. Here are a couple of tracks that have been telling us to let them out into the world, via this here blog. This is True Love Will Find You and Somethings Last A Long Time, by the incomparable Daniel Johnston. Daniel Johnston; True Love Will Find You [...]
M. Ward isn't just 'Him' from She & Him - get to know him through his masterful interpretations of the songs of Dylan, Zeppelin, CCR and more!
fIREHOSE, the Harvey Girls, the Reivers and more take Daniel Johnston's classic for a stroll in the pasture.

As we prepare to feast today I thought I'd post some songs about love and giving a big thanks to the Review Stalker readers, Twitter Followers, music fans and bands. All 3 of you know who you are so a sincere thank you! Finding good songs that are a true thank you was hard. Anyway, It was little over a year ago we went big time with the official RS blog domain. Everybody wants to own their own brand. Right? The unofficial one lived for many years on blogger. Not a huge leap really just more control on [...]
![[Introducing] – White Birds](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3844331_lg.jpg)
Tweet Discovering Philadelphia's White Birds , made up of James Harvey (vocals, guitar) , Farzad Houshiarnejad (vocals, keys) , and Mike Cammarata (drums) is like discovering a long-forgotten mix-tape, a bit warped and tinny from sitting in the car too long several distant summers ago. You pop it into the tape deck of your mom's old '85 Ford Escort, then take a deep breath as sudden memories begin to hit you. "Hondora" instantly immerses you in [...]

>> Fans of hazy, dreamy minimalist indie rock rejoice! Boston duo Travels will release Dec. 1 a limited edition, 7" vinyl single and download package. The A-side of the single, "The Sun Shines Down On Me," is a Daniel Johnston cover, and the flip is a gently bouncing strummer titled "Stencil." The single comes with a download code to get digital versions of those songs as well as three more, turning the whole shebang into a digital EP, no? But wait, there's more: the physical package also includes a 7" x 7" colored still from an [...]

I wish I could say that Philly indie rock five-piece Goodnight Lights was dressing up in hand-printed white t-shirts and playing Daniel Johnston for The M Room's Halloween Tribute Night . Alas, "Daniel Johnston" is simply the name of a fantastic song on their 2010 album Electric Spark ; the Lights are performing as The White Stripes tomorrow (just plain white t-shirts, thanks). It's still a good fit, given the band's raw energy and tightness, though their original material shouldn't be overlooked. Download the song below, check out the entire album here , and catch [...]

While we were searching the interwebs for news about the new album from Crocodiles, we came across this little beauty. An acoustic version of Daniel Johnston's True Love, recorded a couple of months ago in France. Enjoy.

photo by Bobby Aazami Just a quick post of a Daniel Johnson cover from Bahhaj Taherzadeh (We/Or/Me) that was just completed for a lost friend. Songs mean many things to many people and some are shared specifically among friends. I don't pretend to know the whole story behind the recording, but it is a great song, done well for a good reason. From the Soundcloud page: I recorded this song for my friend Gavin Welch a few days after he passed away. This week Marie helped [...]

Just rolling with the Daniel Johnston cover thread. Here is one of our faves, Spiritualized's rendition of True Love. Enjoy.

Lady Lazarus is the solo project of Bay Area singer songwriter Melissa Ann Sweat. We came across her haunting and beautiful rendition of Daniel Johnston's, Story Of An Artist, over on her Bandcamp Page , and had to share.
"Story of an Artist" (Daniel Johnston Cover) / free stream by Lady Lazarus

Four isn't five, but it's also not three. One is the loneliest number, yet two is for hipsters. Seven is considered lucky, while six is the result of dividing 666 by 111. We're okay with four - at least for now. This week - check it, September 15th, 2011 - marked the fourth anniversary of Consequence of Sound . Back in 2007, on one lazy Saturday afternoon in New York, Alex Young decided to start a blog. What you see here today is the ongoing result. But it's not the result that's mind boggling. It's the journey. [...]
