Nachdem schon seine Hauptband Emerald Park im Februar ihr Album "For Tomorrow" als kostenfreien Download freigab, legt nun der Schwede Daniel Jönsson mit seinem Soloprojekt nach und veröffentlicht das im Herbst erschienene Album ebenfalls als kostenfreien Download unter einer Creative Commons Lizenz bei afmusic und 23 Seconds. Daniel Jnsson started to work with his project Danish Daycare already in 2005, but the following years were occupied with his involvement in Emerald Park , as a keyboard player and guitarist. 2009 war irgendwie kein besonders tolles Jahr. (Innen-)politisch sowieso nicht, aber auch persnlich und fr diesen Blog besonders bedeutsam musikalisch nicht so wirklich. Demzufolge fllt mein obligatorischer Jahresrckblick diesmal auch etwas verhaltener bzw. eher uneuphorisch aus. Obwohl ich dieses Jahr sehr viele Alben gehrt habe vermutlich mehr als jemals zuvor , ist die Zahl der wirklich herausragenden Werke nicht so beeindruckend. Die 80er hatten im Nachhinein betrachtet tatsächlich ihre peinlichen Momente. Modische Grenzverletzungen und musikalische Grausamkeiten gab es reichlich. Aber da stehen die 80er nicht allein. Die Zeit heilt alle Wunden, und die heutige Coolness ist die Peinlichkeit von morgen. Es gab , man mag es kaum glauben, auch musiklisch lichte Momente. Danish Daycare is the solo project by Daniel Jnsson from Malm, Sweden, who has achieved quite a lot during his musical career besides being a solo performer. Between 2001-2005 he played keyboards for a local band called Eyedrop and after the band disbanded he started recording his own material under the Danish Daycare moniker. Es gab hier schon einmal einen Eintrag, mit dem Song "A Purpose To My Sins" ( siehe hier ). Allerdings war im August 2008 noch nicht wirklich sicher, ob und vor allem wann Daniel Jnsson sein Soloalbum verffentlichen wird. Genausowenig wie feststand, da dies wieder eine Zusammenarbeit von Smaragd Records und afmusic werden wird. Am 7. September verffentlichten wir nun die erste Singleauskopplung A Purpose To My Sins als Download bei afmusic. Between 2001-2005 Daniel played Keyboards for 'Eyedrop', a group originating from Malmo. In 2002 the first album "You And Me Vs. The Machine" was released and Eyedrop made themselves quite well known in southern Sweden. Unfortunately the band split up in 2005 and the members drifted apart.
