Photos by Carrie Johnston A prominent downtown venue on a warm Saturday attracts all species of night crawlers. Due to this, nothing exclusive or particular about VietNam playing at Dante’s on such a night struck me. The noncommittal crowd was thin to begin with, then fattened when VietNam started, and mostly disappeared before the end. Save for the second opener, Small Arms, the whole experience- the crowd, the music, the low red lights, the air… was like the low hum of a car engine on a three-hour highway jaunt. The most desolate moments [...]

Omar LinX is back with a new single "Come and Go" with Swedish singer Dante, track will not be featured on the upcoming M.O.R. album.
Golden Teacher brings the worlds of post-punk, dance, and psychedelia together on the track "Dante and Pilgrim." A lot like that Factory Floor track that I loved recently, there are plenty of throbbing synths to keep the groove sharp as the vocals head into much stranger territory. The band currently has a 5-track EP on the way via Optimo Music .
Beneath is Part II of our massively drawn-out Twenty Tips for 2013 feature – Part I can be found here . As we said then, we can’t honestly give you that popular hyperbolic introduction which promises you that you will listen to nothing else in 2013, and that they will usher in a new era of trans-national harmony, they’ve made some great music and are very likely to go and do the same again pretty soon. Dante It was pretty frustrating that Dante , the source of what could [...]

Let's show some west coast love to remix group K Theory , hailing from San Fran, this is one of their newest pieces entitled Notorious featuring hip-hop artist Dante . The genre could be argued Trapp, but we can call it Hip-Hop Electronic. I'd assume the track is titled Notorious being that it's a B.I.G beat, but I'd also like to not draw into rash assumptions, so I did the research. Sure Enough, I was right. In other news, K Theory is going to release a brand remix of [...]

Coming soon on Optimo Music is this absolute BEAST! A collaboration between Glasgow's noise punk trio, Ultimate Thrush and Glasgow's all analogue house duo, Silk Cut it sounds like Noise-Punk-Analogue-House - apparently they call it 'hypno-psych voodoo groove'. The sheer energy in this recording is stunning probably due to it being recorded live in Glasgow's legendary Green Door Studios. If you like your music slick and smooth then this probably isn't for you!

( Welcome Dave, who has now joined the squad. Dave is a good friend who writes awesomely, as you can see. You should be as happy as we are. The artwork above is by kregynst , via the excelsior 50watts .). An arpeggio is the three notes of a chord played separately and in sequence, rather than at the same time. You can do this on pianos, guitars, harps, or any other instrument. In early monophonic synths and video game music, arpeggios were a workaround for the hardware limitations of only having one available [...]
The ever-expanding MFNW brought the rock to Portland.
Ohh shit it's Saturday night and this one's a banger. One hour of pure dance music. It's progressive, it's tech house, it's just the right mix of delicate and grimy in the mid-1202s that's not too fast and not too slow. Some originals, some remixes of his originals (weird), and the occasional hit - dance your [...]

This remix is one of those feel good songs that you jam in your headphones when your in the library trying to crank out school work. Can't help but vibe to songs like these...yum Tweet Facebook LinkedIn Tumblr Stumble Digg Delicious

Personally I feel like there are far more pressing things to direct my fury towards, such as the impending doom of being submerged under the completely unavoidable marketing campaign known as the Olympics, but many people seem to feel like Adele is an ever present evil that must be dealt with. For these people – here is one more reason to irrationally dislike a person that you’ve never met. Dante is Swedish. This, of course, means that he was born to construct pop songs of the sort of simplicity and originality that most other people [...]

Wowie! Hard to keep track of all the releases this week and each and every one has impressed me in their own way. Klaas absolutely killed in with two giant releases of a new type of electro he hasn't shown us before. AS we all know, Tiesto & AN21 & Max Vangeli out out People of the Night a track that has been highly anticipated. Additionally we're seeing tracks from Arty, Marco V, Sidney Samson and many many more. Be sure to catch Secrets as the vocals will be sure to blow you away. Enjoy this big list! Stay Lifted! [...]

Mike Patton & Ictus Ensemble Laborintus II Ipecac Recordings 02 July 2012 by David Keevill It really is saying something if you have to check Mike Patton against the eccentricity scale to see if he’s wandered past "manically kooky" and into the realms of "wobble custard emu". This is a man who's partially responsible for Faith No More following up The Real Thing with Angle Dust - an album as hooky as it is strange. It captures the eternally contrarian attitude [...]

"Dante Elephante is an indie surf pop quartet from Santa Barbara, California. The band have recently released their first EP, German Aquatics. Winning over fans with their live performances, they have recently opened for Mos Def, Royal Bangs, Rooney, Murs and Walk the Moon". A West Coast surf influence never fails to raise a smile, throw in two or three high-end guitar twangs and watch the feel good factor rocket through the roof. Dante Elephante keep their sound clean, the distortion is minimal, we`re spared any out-of-control beach bum antics with this release, in fact the [...]
'Won't Go' by Scandi upstart Dante is an absolute smasher showing endless potential. If there's any justice in the world, we're sure it'll propel the singer to the 'Next Swede Pop Hit' level of acclaim he deserves. Long infatuated by the track, here's a pretty stellar session directed by Ted Malmros. Wonderfully shot and lit, while letting Dante's flawless vocal performance take the focus, it also features some nifty dancing from the man himself too. Take a look above.
