SO THIS NEW BORN OF OSIRIS SONG

I've never been able to "get" Born of Osiris. They're technically proficient enough (these days who isn't) but they just never really stood out to me when stacked up against their peers. They're not as proggy as The Faceless, don't have the songs of After the Burial, aren't as good players as Animals as Leaders, [...]

Coliseum, Superchunk Releasing Split Seven-Inch of Misfits Covers

Coliseum, Superchunk Releasing Split Seven-Inch of Misfits Covers I know this isn't DANZIG WATCH 2010 or anything, but news about the Lord of the Dance Lord of Darkness is still important - especially when it pertains to awesome bands covering his songs. Avowed Danzig lovers Coliseum (who ably contributed to DW2K10 ) will be teaming up with Superchunk to release a split seven-inch with covers of the Misfits ' Bullet and Horror Business , respectively. [...]

ninebullets.net JANUARY 2011 PODCAST: LET'S GET JIGGY WITH IT EDITION:

ninebullets.net JANUARY 2011 PODCAST: LET'S GET JIGGY WITH IT EDITION: (AIV Note: This was supposed to be posted yesterday but my dumb ass forgot to upload the podcast to the server. Der, I iz full of forgets....anyhow, enjoy.) Well, it might be a new year and I might have a radio show now but nothing really changes when it comes to the podcast. It starts nice enough and you might even be able to hear some improvement gleaned from doing a weekly radio show but it quickly devolves into a ½ drunk foul mouthed typical podcast. Don't let that deter you though. While my speech and [...]

Relive Glenn Danzig's "greatest hits"

Danzig How The Gods Kill - Live in Baltimore 10-23-07
Hugh Platt loves Danzig a bit too much. Okay, he loves Danzig far too much. That Glenn's playing Download Festival 2011 has gotten Hugh far too excited. Of all the line-up additions announced for Download Festival 2011 last night, it was the confirmation that Glenn frickin' Danzig was finally coming back to the UK that [...]

Luftmensch's Best of 2010

Luftmensch's Best of 2010 I love arguing over and bitching about year-end Best Of lists, until I'm forced to make one. Just Wait 'Til Next Year: Five Eightartists whose 2011 releases I'm eagerly awaiting. The Twilight Singers Okkervill River Carol Bui Hard Nips Shabazz Palaces Anna Calvi Ghostpoet Hyro Da Hero Songs of the Year (no particular order): I may tire of these songs eventually, but I'm not banking on living that long. Henry Rollins and Glenn Danzig spend a "very special" Christmas together

Henry and Glenn Forever X-mas Special
Ever wondered what would happen if Glenn Danzig and Henry Rollins were....ahem...."very special friends", and shared a house together, next door to their Satan-worshipping neighbours, Hall & Oates? And wouldn't a cartoon of their (anti-)Christmas horseplay be just the thing to get you going on a brisk Monday morning in December? Well, technically it's just a [...]

Henry Rollins' magical musical tour

Henry Rollins' magical musical tour By Meriah Doty "You have never heard this before until now," Henry Rollins explained as he sat center-stage at the Echoplex during a listening party he orchestrated as a fundraiser for KCRW-FM on Thursday night. It was a sold-out show featuring music he cannot play on his radio show and personal stories from his past. It did not disappoint. Known for his eclectic taste and obsession with some of the rarest music in the world, Rollins played 24 "top-shelf" cuts of never-released songs (sometimes comparing them to their "official" versions) [...]

Song des Tages: Danzig – On A Wicked Night

Im seinem neuen Video muss sich the one and only Schinkengott Glenn Danzig eine grausam plumpe Anmache gefallen lassen.

11/24: The Misfits – Attitude (1995)

A friend's recent confusing of the Misfits and the Insane Clown Posse inspired me to drop an old Misfits fave on the song of the day to set the record straight.

SOME OLD BANDS U MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT

Possessed - Death Metal - Seven Churches
When I am not trolling simple-minded, entry-level elitists, I enjoy the soothing, dulcet tones of some classic thrash or death metal. I am definitely not any kind of metal encyclopedia or authority on the subject, but I have realized that (sadly) I'm old enough to have heard a few bands that many younger metal fans [...]

Nick Cave Curses Smoke Machine Operator at Grinderman's New York Gig

Nick Cave Curses Smoke Machine Operator at Grinderman's New York Gig Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News The ideal place to see Nick Cave would be onstage at hell's sleaziest nightclub. Luckily, he sets that scene wherever he goes, without the need for special effects. "Could you stop pouring smoke out of that f---ing machine, please?" Cave asked Sunday night at the Best Buy Theater in New York City, where he and his current band, Grinderman , were three songs into the fourth show of their [...]

IN WHICH STUPID WAS AS STUPID DID

Ozzy Osbourne- Pre-concert spoof videos #2
I can't think of anything clever to say right now, so I'm just gonna leave to my homies, Ozzy and Forest: Here's what we did this week: Veil of Maya's Marc Okubo gave us our first Legacy Tour diary, Intronaut's Sacha Dunable gave us a lesson in why Californians should have voted to legalize weed, [...]

Danzig Cancels Twin Cities Show Because of Ceiling Height

Danzig was scheduled to play a show Nov. 9 at Minneapolis' Cabooze, when he apparently decided that he venue's 15-foot-tall ceiling wasn't high enough. At that point, it seems Danzig shut down the show before doors even opened. While the Twin Cities' City Pages couldn't get in touch with Danzig to get his side of the story, they did hear from Michelle Metz at the Cabooze. While discussing how the Dark Lord's decision had adversely affected the venue, Metz had this to say about any guilt he may have felt: Oh [...]

"THIS STAGE ISN'T BIG ENOUGH FOR GLENN DANZIG'S EGO!"

On Tuesday night we got an e-mail from reader Taylor Carik, letting us know that he and a friend had gone to see Danzig at the Cabooze in Minneapolis earlier in the evening - only for Danzig to cancel the show at the last minute, "saying he didn't like the venue." Apparently the other bands on [...]

New Song + Tour Dates : Liturgy : Ecstatic Rite (live on WFMU)

New Song + Tour Dates : Liturgy : Ecstatic Rite (live on WFMU) Folks, I got serious beef today. Went out last night to see kitty litter buying Glenn Danzig heading the Blackest Of The Black Tour 2010, only to get to the venue and find out that he threw a hissy fit and split town because the stage was too small. That's the story I got from the folks at the venue, so I took it with a grain of salt, but until I hear otherwise... Anyway, the night wasn't a total bust because I got to see Toxic Holocaust, Marduk and Possessed, all of whom kicked bootay [...]

IN WHICH WE ASKED SOME QUESTIONS

Why am I writing this week's "Worst Week" entirely in questions? Could it be to irritate you? Or am I just trying to keep myself amused at the end of the week? Did you know we asked some other questions this week? Was Sergeant D. kidding when he said that there are only two good [...]
