Initially only gently mental, Triangulation Station almost resembles Cardiff screwballs Islet calming down, Emma Daman delivering a retro warble atop pliable, slightly calypso psych. Of course it's not though it perhaps would, were Mark Thomas' dry vocal interventions not as thirstily maniacal as ever as he drones of "talking with the fire in the dark dark dark" midway through the longstanding live fave.
Dark Dark Dark contribute a jazz-tinged gem of an EP to the UK’s Record Store Day festivities.

After a tumultuous breakup between band members and subsequent record, Dark Dark Dark return with a refreshing, newfound optimism. Dark Dark Dark - What I Needed [...]
Long time no broadcast... So much energy and time was spent perfecting the bumper Christmas edition of Anything You Can Do... , it was agreed that a three month break would be necessary for all involved to recover from the festive exploits. It had nothing to do with forgetfulness nor procrastination whatsoever. Feast your hairy hibernated ears on this month's batch of tracks by using the link below.

Facebook / brightbrightbright.com Record Store Day remains something I'm very fond of although I can't say I'm a believer of all the major label re-issue's that seemingly take up most of the press in its build up, I'm much happier with the special releases, normally from little independent labels with some form of limited edition, exclusive material that can reward those of us mad enough to spend three hours queuing to get in the same record shop that you can go to every week without such troubles. (As I'm here, a side note, please [...]
Just before embarking on an extensive European tour this May, TWD favorite Dark Dark Dark is set to release a new EP April 23 entitled What I Needed. In anticipation of this they have released a three song teaser with the superb title track What I Needed front and center. If you need a reminder of Dark Dark Dark's previous work, check out my past TWD articles about them here. Read on for my full thoughts.

Let us help you catch up on the week in brief. First we are bummed that Foxygen canceled their tour in the name of the band's "creative health", then electro kraut legends Kraftwerk we learned are banned from playing in China for participating in the Tiebetan Freedom Concert from 1998, and Lil Wayne disclosed that his string of seizures were caused by epilepsy and not the sizzurp. But with plenty more to gossip and talk about, jump head first into a selection of some of the week...

Minneapolis chamber-folk quintet, Dark Dark Dark , are following up last year's release of Who Needs Who (my personal favorite of 2012) with a special, limited 103 for Record Store Day in the UK featuring three new songs and a remix of "How It Went Down". Yesterday, the band debuted one of those tracks, "What I Needed", which summons a 602s girl pop sound that, when combined with Invie's dreamy voice, makes their jazz-influenced sound and sweet harmonies a swoon-worthy slice of perfection. Listen to "What I Needed" above!
Este EP terá quatro músicas: "What I Needed", "Love Lies", "I Collect Things" e "How It Went Down (Remix)".

Coming on the heels of their much lauded album, Who Needs Who , Minneapolis' Dark Dark Dark will be getting involved in the Record Store Day festivities with the release of a new EP, What I Needed , featuring three new songs. Recorded during the sessions of their latest album and in the aftermath of a relationship breakdown between band co-founders Marshall LaCount and Nona Marie Invie, the band felt these songs deserved their own place seperate of the full-length. Listen to [...]
T he members of Dark Dark Dark continue building up the band's impressive album/EP resume with the forthcoming EP What I Needed , out April 23rd on Supply & Demand . Released to celebrate Record Store Day in the UK, the 4-track EP contains three new songs and (believe it or not) a disco remix of a single from the October 2012 full-length album, Who Needs Who . The new single is the title track from the EP What I Needed and is a solid 602s sentimental song which finds vocalist Nona Maria Invie embracing [...]

The meandering piano lines and ethereal sounds of Dark Dark Dark’s latest album Who Needs Who , are a joy to listen to, and now the band has announced three brand new tracks released especially for Record Store Day in the UK. Each track is a band favourite held back for a special occasion, these are songs from the Who Needs Who recording sessions deemed worthy of their own distinctive place. Recorded in the aftermath of a relationship breakdown between the band's co-founders, each song remains as personal as the work you’ll hear [...]
