Never Joy is the slightly dark and very promising debut from 18 year old Brighton indie folk musician Ed Tullett. You'll definitely hear some of the his influences here, specifically Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes, Iron & Wine; all listed in his music collection on Tumblr. Dip's back at us with a new remix, this time of a track from Sleigh Bell's most recent yet disappointing album. This reinterpretation really summons the demonic aspects alluded in the title with sharp, hallowing electronic cords and corrupted vocals. It's not the most pleasant listening experience, but certainly trumps the original's now-boring gimmick rapidly staggered guitar riff samples. The Darkness have announced plans for a third studio album to be released on August 20th, titled Hot Cakes , along with a globe spanning tour. Hot Cakes will be released via PIAS (UK & World) and Wind Up (North America & South America) and will be produced by Justin and Dan Hawkin, along with Nick Brine and Bob Ezrin on the duty of mixing.
