Heavy bass music was redefined last Saturday night at LA's Club Nokia when Excision brought his enormous Executioner stage and a 100,000 watt PK Sound system to town. The crowd was full of diehard bassheads wearing his t-shirts and standing proudly before the veiled behemoth in the theater. Darude 's "Sandstorm" is one of those songs that I never wanted to hear again, but Slugabed has surprisingly reworked it with his genre-bending electronics and made something that sounds like it came right out of Time Team . You can download it for free here if you follow the instructions.
Oh snap is right. I know there are a few trap remixes of this but I have to say I think this one is the best.

I view the song "Sandstorm" by Darude as the first electronic song that a huge amount of Americans ever heard. I've fatured Vaski's fitlhy dubstep take on the old school anthem, and now we get a fresh new "OG remix" from Candyland, that's got a hip hop vibe. This a Trap remix, simliar to Flosstradamus' Total Recall EP which has the similar style. This fresh new take has been on repeat since hearing it. Turn it up, enjoy! How was 2011 for you? 2011 was definitely a more productive year than I've had lately (I have had a little hard time putting in solid hours the last few years due to some family reasons, and starting a label also takes you away from your studio quite a bit). I think the final number of my remixes this year totals to seven, which is nice for me, and I've started several new Darude tracks and that'll be fruitful next year. Highlights?
