NON records just dropped Marius remix for Das Pop's "Gold." A couple days ago our friends from Night Versions premiered this great rework. Since then I've been anxious waiting for this release to be available for everyone. Finally, here it is, for free download. It's time to make find some Gold!
NON Records' Marius is a very talented producer coming from wonderful Amsterdam. We already posted lots of his great stuff on Nite Versions. And we actually can't get enough of them. Another catchy new track by indiepopband Das Pop called "Thunder & Lightning". All the ingredients from their much acclaimed album "Das Pop" are once again in this track, so a perfect pop track for Das Pop Part XI. Their previous album "The Game" was a bit of a disappointment for me, but we are sure this new (stand alone, aka no new album yet) track will be a hit. Or at least, it should be a hit, really liking it! Funky and ubercatchy pop FTW.
If there is anyone who embodies the saying "you are your own worst critic" it is Bear Damen of NON Records. The multi-talented owner/producer/videographer/ graphic artist of the Dutch label previewed several yet to be released demos and songs of his during my tenure there. Replacing Bent's distinctive vocals is a bold move, but one that didn't miss its goal. Villa's production and vocals by young talent Maya (someone we'll probably hear from in the near future) transform the ultra poppy and upbeat track into one that is much more dark and dancy, yet gives away an explosion of sweetness after the 4 minute mark.
