Another catchy new track by indiepopband Das Pop called "Thunder & Lightning". All the ingredients from their much acclaimed album "Das Pop" are once again in this track, so a perfect pop track for Das Pop Part XI. Their previous album "The Game" was a bit of a disappointment for me, but we are sure this new (stand alone, aka no new album yet) track will be a hit. If there is anyone who embodies the saying "you are your own worst critic" it is Bear Damen of NON Records. The multi-talented owner/producer/videographer/ graphic artist of the Dutch label previewed several yet to be released demos and songs of his during my tenure there. To me, these "rough drafts" sounded ready for the dance floor, but to Bear they had to be perfect. I will admit I'm the impatient type, and weary of this, especially when patience pays off. Replacing Bent's distinctive vocals is a bold move, but one that didn't miss its goal. Villa's production and vocals by young talent Maya (someone we'll probably hear from in the near future) transform the ultra poppy and upbeat track into one that is much more dark and dancy, yet gives away an explosion of sweetness after the 4 minute mark.
