You hopefully already know Shakes (not to be confused with The Shakes ), and this is just a friendly reminder and not an introduction. At the very least, you probably already know their spectacular "Fa-Fa-Fa" remix... right? "Sister Self Doubt" is one of those brilliant-in-a-post-LCD-Sounds ystem type tracks, like total guitar driven dance music that hopefully we won't be tired of anytime soon. This track sounds like a floor ready Rapture remix but like, um, it's straight up instead. Hopefully for Shakes sake, they won't get lumped into or limited by any of [...]

Bergen, Norway If you haven't heard Datarock Datarock by... yes... Datarock , then you're missing out! Hey, these guys even got featured as MySpace's band of the day. Woot woot! "The Most Beautiful Girl" Datarock on MySpace

Two things I must share with you if you are compiling a CD-R (or whatever) for a party tomorrow night and you want something that not everyone has heard. I'm not quite sure how it happened - probably another Blogger- but i found myself listening to Norweigian trio Datarock for the first time today. I knew they had made the NME's Top fifty albums of the year list but these tracks really made me pick up my ears: [...]
Here is your latest dose of weekly goodness of music that has been running through my veins recently. I also added one of my favourite tracks by the soul master that was James Brown (RIP). Snazzy As Fuck Vol.2 01. Datarock - Computer Camp Love [Buy] [Homepage] [MySpace] 02. CSS - Music Is My Hot Hot Sex [Buy] [Homepage] [...]
via slamxhype was it all just a dream? #### look out for full reviews of hell hath no fury and she's mature tomorrow. until then: datarock - sex me trouble & bass - uptown ####
In the summer of 2000 huddled under a tree at a rainy outdoor festival in Bergen, Fredrik Saroea, Ketil Mosnes and Kevin O'Brien decided to form a band. In 2005 they released their debut album "Datarock Datarock" which received critial acclaim. Datarock really hit it big after being featured on Annie's DJ:Kicks compilation . Their music is a blend of electronic dance music and indie rock with a point of being silly and fun, without crossing the line. I'm really psyched about seeing them play live tonight at Airwaves, will post some concert photos [...]
Oh lordy, I'm tired and kind of bummed out. Too many boring, dull details to get into here -- but hey, we did have fun last night -- especially as everywhere we went had free drinks and scintillating conversation. Quote of the evening? "I'm a Tori Amos fan, I don't fear your abuse," from the e'er quotable Achtung Baby !. (And why is it that we only ever see him at the Beauty Bar anyway?) Clearly the young man who asked us about Ani DiFranco last week cannot take our abuse, and we're still sorry about [...]
I have recently developed a strong crush on Norway's Datarock . Although apparently they've already been written about on many blogs that I love, I'm just getting ear of it. Sometimes it's just too hard to keep up. But back to Datarock... upon first listen of "Fa-Fa-Fa", I was convinced that Talking Heads' David Byrne had gotten together with ESG or maybe The Rapture and created a side project to blow our minds. Don't support the Byrne reference? Then listen to "Sex Me Up". The songs are wonderfully catchy and sometimes funny on top of [...]
So I was all set to do a big-ass post yesterday, but then Shanna Moakler bitch-slapped Paris Hilton and I had to work late (yes, I am officially writing for three people now); hence random crap today. But it's good random crap. The musical equivalent of pooping a bouquet of daisies, even. Datarock, "Fa-fa-fa" - By now, of course, the cat's pretty much out of the bag on "Fa-fa-fa"; I'd really been hoping that I'd be the one to brighten the blogosphere with its introduction, but then again I never really [...]

It seems nowadays I’m going back in time. I search youtube for old TV shows. Movies I passed on back in the day just so I could wait three hours for someone to return the newest Jean-Claude Van Damme movie are getting their moment in the sun. I fondly reminisce about clothes that I once whined about. Regardless of film or fashion, it’s the music from the past that I’m catching up with the most. What ends up happening is that I spend days listening [...]

I love Datarock , you love Datarock , we love Datarock ! With that said they present you their new single "Fa-Fa-Fa". The single was released on the 25th of this month. "Fa-Fa-Fa" captures disco-indie at it's finest. Certain parts of the new single really remind me of classic 99 Records pressings. What Princess Superstar does to the remix of this song is something not too be missed. I think someone should open up an indie Studio 54 these days, just for the reason alone of playing the Princess Superstar remix. Apart from Princess Superstar other [...]
All the way from Bergen, Norway. Ya. Where the hell is that?, you ask. Why, it's right there on the map. [...]
