Dave Sitek (of TV on the Radio fame) is no stranger to remixes. He's reworked songs by everyone from Lykke Li to 502s blues great Dinah Washington . His newest effort is a beat-addled, club-worthy stomper - a remix of Florence + The Machine's "No Light, No Light", off her October album Ceremonials . Sitek replaces the soaring boys choir backup vocals of the original with fidgeting 808 kick, and throws in some of his signature clatter and buzz. After having remixed MF DOOM's " Rhymin' Slang " just last week, Dave Sitek , of TV On The Radio and Maximum Balloon, is at it again, and this time around he's remixed Florence & The Machine 's "No Light, No Light." The song, which was one of twelve featured on Florence & The Machine's recently released sophomore album Ceremonials , will be released as a 12" single on January 16th, and Mr. Sitek's remix will accompany it as a b-side. TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek knows a thing or two about remixes, having previously reworked tracks from Dinah Washington , Lykke Li , The Naked & Famous , and, more recently, MF DOOM . Sitek's latest remix is that of Florence and the Machine 's "No Light, No Light", which serveas as the B-side to the 123 single due out January 16th. In the able hands of Sitek, "No Light, No Light" loses some of its melodramatic air, replaced instead with an effervescent, club-ready vibe. Both tracks may be decidedly similar, but they'll evoke wholly unique sets of emotions. Check [...]

Our one complaint about Dave Sitek's (of TV on the Radio , Maximum Balloon ) remix of DOOM's "Rhymin Slang" – why in heaven's name is it so short! You can only stream a little over a minute of the track, which'll appear on Lex Records 10th Anniversary compilation, but based on what we can hear, we're wondering why Sitek and DOOM haven't been making music together since the dawn of time. Do you remember the wonderfully named " Retarded Fren ", a collaboration between DOOM and most of Radiohead? It was for a tenth anniversary compilation called Complex for Lex records, and was officially certified bonkers by Con. Well here comes some more superb weirdness as DOOM teamed up with producer Jneiro Janel for "Rhymin' Slang", which was then remixed by TV On The Radio's Dave Sitek for the compilation.
