Like all great journeys, this one too must come to an end. And by Sunday evening, as promised, no less! Just by virtue of how I ended up organizing this playlist, this part ended up being very, shall we say, "classic rock" heavy, so if that's not your thing, this probably won't be your favorite part of the playlist (in which case see links at the bottom for parts 1-3!), but I wouldn't steer you wrong, these are definitely choice cuts! Here we have two cuts, one from each of David Byrne (of Talking Heads fame) and Brian Eno's (of revolutionary, genius music production fame) two collaborations. The first, from 19812s My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts is a fitting sample of just how prescient that album is in regards to future musical trends. Combining jittery Talking Heads style funk and afro/latin beats with ambient electronics and some of the first examples of vocal sampling, My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts is essentially the template upon which music would build through the present day. 27 [...]
by the QC staff What is the light of 2008? What a funny question to ask considering that all of us have lived dynamic and complicated years. Regardless, we've assembled a list of defining tracks and articles of culture that kept the QC collective sane in '08. Artist: Regina Spektor [...]
My Life in the Busch of Ghosts.

It seems like every other month Sharon and I talk about leaving New York. Partially, it's about money, but I guess it's about being fulfilled or something. Sharon usually suggests her home of Buffalo , where rent is dirt cheap (I'm looking more into Rhode Island , pictured above with both a beautiful skyline and a glamorous garbage can). Apparently, we're not alone in this line of thinking. New York actually wrote a story about moving away from the city and taking advantage of a decrepit city...Buffalo specifically! [...]
by kevin diamond David Byrne is one of the longest-lasting loves of my music fan-boy life. He was the leader of one of my favorite bands of all time ( Talking Heads ), he wrote my favorite song ( "This Must Be The Place" ), starred in my favorite concert film ( Stop Making Sense ), wrote AND directed my favorite quasi-musical staring John Goodman and 50 pairs of midgets (The vastly underrated True Stories ); on top of all this, he comes across as one of the [...]

I'm back with a meager offering. I've been busy [working on music] - plus there's not a lot of brand new music I'm really into right now. The releases are just starting to trickle in for the year; I'm sure we'll be back at full throttle in a fortnight. Yesterday, without doubt, warrants a post. It was a day of the most exquisite inconvenience; an elegant and methodical butchering reserved for those of us with no particular moral character - save for one event. Mocky - Mickey Mouse Muthafuckas [...]
