Hinder recently expressed their desire to work with American Idol winner and Tulsan David Cook . From EW's Hollywood Insider : "I dig David Cook," says singer Austin Winkler, a native of Oklahoma, where Cook has lived for the past few years. "He shows that the world is starving for a little bit of rock-n-roll. Hopefully we can write some tunes for him." According to Hinder, who were in the audience for this year's Idol finale and met the winner briefly that night, [...]
Trapped In The Sound Walls by Molly Lambert Hey New York! Get off our dick. It's unseemly. (We're married now.) Love, California p.s. we can still have sext BEWARE OF MINE HATCHETATIONS! 1. Philadelphia Slick - Culture Industry - If you know where I can find the mother load of jazz-backed hip-hop in the chilly cool vein of this, please let me know. ASAP. (I found this on thesixtyone ) [from Culture Industry | buy ] 2. David Cook - Hello (Lionel Richie)- I don't know if I've ever really talked about American Idol here, and you might even love it that way. But m'lady and I did watch this season beginning to end. Don't hate the player, hate the game. The worship of the one known as Obama is chronic. His tee-shirts look like images of Che Guevara. His nascent cult is a group of highly educated doofuses. And yet this character retains a postmodern charm, by which of course we mean the kind of brutishness we recognize [...]

It was Archuleta vs. Cook tonight in a showdown that (almost) capped Idol's talent-filled, yet extremely flawed 7th season. And it was quite a vocal match-up, as the two singers belted their hearts out back and forth. Still, tonight's performance night, along with the great vocals, was also marked with incredibly lame and unnecessary boxing analogies, as well as an interesting end-of-show miscue, adding to a long list of things that Idol needs changed. For a quick recap of tonight's episode, read on. Cook started all three rounds with excellent [...]
Today we begin our classic fiction series with Susan Minot's seminal short story, Lust. Enjoy. Lust by Susan Minot Leo was from a long time ago, the first one I ever saw nude. In the spring before the Hellmans filled their pool, we'd go down there in the deep end, with baby oil, and like that. I met [...]

The Idol results show is on FOX tonight from 9-10. I personally found last night's Idol extremely entertaining, featuring two particularly stellar performances along with other notable ones. I thought that Carly Smithson was the best of the night with her powered-up rendition of "Jesus Christ Superstar," and I was happy to see her finally get the praise she deserves from Simon- for I feel that she is without a doubt the most talented female vocalist left. Watch Carly's awesome performance HERE . Download the live MP3 below. [...]
