Hey I did a new mini mix. Like the last "Off the Cuff" I push record, play for a bit and put it straight to computer land. No frills no gimmicks as they say...enjoi the hell out of it. D§†®®®. Longhair David Starfire faces up to one of the most important alternative rock bands of British independent music scene of the 1980s - The Smiths. In fact to their track "Bigmouth Strikes Again" which describes the frustration of being hounded by others and draws comparisons to Joan of Arc as she was being burned. To be honest, that's kinda double Dutch to me but who cares. Now it is a dance-track. Mediafire: The Smiths - Bigmouth Strikes Again (David Starfire Remix)

Saturday Post Hello to all. As you know I usually do a Sunday Post that encapsulates the weeks great releases into one giant electronic indie diatribe. Well I am engaged with some family business tomorrow so I'll have to show the love tonight while I have some time and enough energy to espouse my usual rantings and ravings regarding all things music. As a footnote thanks to Mike B for another great night on Thursday and for the Vitaminsforyou show last night at the Lo-Pub. (Images - Alexandros Vasmoulakis ) [...]

Johnny Marr's guitar strums get stuttered, bent and broken in this, a remix of one of our favorite Smiths songs, and one of the most recognizable tunes to ever emanate from a jukebox. David Starfire brings the acid disco to the 1986-born Britpop classic and we're actually kind of stoked about the result. It's still poppy as shit, but the addition of tribal drum circles and stop-start-rewind vocal ticks of Morrissey 's wounded cadence. Originally from Lexington, KY, iCatching (birth name Tiffany Catching), is trying to work her way into the hip-hop world with the help of super fly producer David Starfire. She's pretty new to the game, and doesn't have a lot of music to her name, but her first single, "Music," shows a lot of promise. Her name has come up recently on Starfire's remix of N.A.S.A.'s great new song "Whatchadoin" (which features the likes of Spank Rock, M.I.A., Santogold and Nick Zinner). Here's to hoping we hear some more from her and Starfire. Check out all I have with [...]

While I'm out tonight watching Henry Rollins rant and rage in Santa Rosa, thousands of people are planning on doing some dancing. Whether vertical or horizontal, here's a few songs that'll set the mood... Japanese act LALORY politely asked me to introduce their "unit." That's a little inappropriate for this blog but I will however introduce your music... LALORY - Bay Dream (Lalory's Krazy Dub Mix) David Starfire just [...]

Epic banger times nine from remixer David Starfire . We last had news of him from his awesomely Tron-ish "Jimmy" re-edit . This one, a completely rad take on the N.A.S.A. track "Whatchadoin" (which features Santogold , Spank Rock and M.I.A ), is so layered and dense, it'll take a dozen or so listens to really parse everything in there. It's like a Logic-made "Will It Blend?", which, by the way, the answer is yes, yes it does. (mp3) N.A.S.A - Whatchadoin (David Starfire remix) Godspeed!

Bollywood meets "Galaga" in this new remix of "Jimmy", from M.I.A. 's last album, Kala. The rework, done by David Starfire employs way more blips and lasers than anything else, making this track do away with all things Asiatic. In their stead, the sonics are mushed together with every infusion of electronics imaginable, making this the logical first single to the sequel to "Tron", if only it were being overseen by Yacht .
