We've been a fan of Bully In The Hallway's high energy indie-punk attack for a while. So, we were stoked to hear they've just released a new record, Crooks and their Castles . While a full review of the LP will come later this month, we just had to share the track, "You Got Me," which we've been really digging as of late. "You Got Me" opens with some galloping drum work before vocalist Matt Simon enters with a franticly paced delivery. Then just when you think it's moshing [...]

ALBUM REVIEW: So if you're a ex-metal head what do you do after lighting strikes you and you are enlightened? One thing is you make a record called we are night sky and you call the band deadboy & the Elephantmen . The main dude Dax Riggs (what rock minikor) was in the slowcore metal band Acid Bath and the rock anthem group Agents of Oblivion before deadboy came together. However, the metamorphosis happened we don't care because this is a great heaven and hell themed record that marks [...]
The Waterkeeper Alliance is an international, grassroots coalition of local watchdog groups that protect the health and sustainability of over 200 of the most important waterways in the world . The local chapter, the Atchafayala Basinkeepers , is charged with looking after the largest swampland in the United States, the delicate 135-mile long distributary that leads the Mississippi River into the Gulf of Mexico. AA Bondy - The Heart Is Willing by fatpossum A.A. Bondy is releasing his third disc Believers (Fat Possum) on Tuesday and this follow-up to 2009's When The Devil's Loose shows Bondy continuing to expand on the full band sound of When the Devil's Loose but moving away from his folky/Americana past into darker "Dax Riggs" territory. Believers was recorded in the spring of 2011 by Rob Schnapf at Mant/Kingsize Studios in Glassell [...]
Dax Riggs doesn?t worry about how others perceive his art. He makes art that is true to his self. The grinding sludge of Acid Bath, a group that has gained a large, post-humously cult following since disbanding in the late ?90s, was something special for Riggs, but he felt confined within the definition of how that band should sound. Sure, the band... Read More/Discuss on Metal Underground.com

[Some Internet demons are confounding us at Buzz Bands HQ this morning, so this post is a bit late-arriving. Please remind me to update my 2006 technology.] Lots and lots to consume tonight. Be voracious, my friends: ► Friendly Fires , their new album "Pala" just out on XL Recordings, play to a sold-out Music Box. They were electric in February at the Roxy (and they're on KCRW's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" at 11 a.m.) Wise [...]

by BBG " Dax Riggs - Say Goodnight to the World -- Slicker and more produced than previous Dax material, including his pre-solo Deadboy & the Elephantmen stuff. As I was reflecting on the last couple of months packed with some incredible shows and my decision to even choose shows after parties this Halloween, I began to recall some of the musicians who like it dark. I'm not talking about lighting - although I would always prefer it not be dark for the sake of my photographer. I'm talking about those artists who have a gritty, haunting and gripping sound. A great example of what I'm talking about is embodied in Dax Riggs . Formerly known for being a part of [...]
