The Daylight/Nightlight EPs by IMAKEMADBEATS The timeless battle between good and evil is a story that has been told countless times and evoked through song since the beginning of recorded music. But the story rarely takes place within the realm of one man's mind, and when it is, the line is drawn in an exaggerated way, resulting in unrealistic and unrelated characters. Doxside Music Group producer IMAKEMADBEATS has broken the mold with his conceptual dual-EP project, Daylight/Nightlight. Featuring emcees Butta Verses and MidaZ the Beast respectively, the two pieces wholly represent [...]

MP3: Strangers in Daylight - Forsythe MP3: Howler - Back of Your Neck Letters of Transit , the debut album from Strangers in Daylight, has been the most pleasant surprise so far this year when it comes to Columbus releases. I'll just state what I said in a recent Other Paper review : " Letters of Transit represents a change in direction from the original spy-rock vision of Strangers, trading in trippy, Pink Floyd tunes for a hook-driven, Britpop base... Eight tracks [...]
We didn't have a Pit Romney column up last week, a critical error since HOLY CRAPS SO MUCH HAPPENED! So without further ado, here's your latest round-up of the goings on in the wonderful world of hardcore festivals! The bilingual bunch behind Quebec's sixth Heart Fest recently revealed the full lineup for this three-day event, [...]
Axl wore his most vile death metal shirt in an attempt to avoid being selected as a juror in this great City of New York, but lo and behold, his plan backfired and he was chosen anyway. So it's been the Vince party over here since Wednesday with plenty of help from all of our [...]
A389 Recordings' opening salvo of 2012 includes the self-titled debut 73 from Unholy Majesty, a 90s-nodding, sample-happy Clevo-core act-from the United Kingdom. Lest geography concern you, these three cuts never lack in authenticity. Unabashedly metallic, with flecks of thrashy bravado in places, "The Owl & The Serpent" spits and grinds like all good Integrity-referencing shit [...]

Artwork by Dalila Couto A couple weeks ago we asked our followers what were their favorite tracks of 2011. We could have done our own top, but we have decided people should tell us, because all blogs are doing their own charts. If there is any track missing, we apologize for it, but i think everyone is included. Anyway, we have also contributed with our favorites. No doubts 2011 was an excellent year. Here we only have originals, during this week we are going to blog as well all the remixes. For sure [...]

Kolombo makes some really solid beats. Featured in the new Aeroplane compilation, Kolombo's "Day Light ft. Michael Parker" is definitely one of the best things I've heard from this guy. Sneak peak below! Cosmic disco vibes
It would be easy to dismiss this as kind of weak towards the start. 3:15 is where it's at. There's a cheeky sax solo beforehand so stop moaning and leave me alone. Buy The Golden Age of Apocalypse at Bleep

Thundercat's debut full-length is a fantastically modernized tribute to the strain of jazz fusion that was coming out in the late 70s and early 80s. From George Duke to Jaco Pastorious, some of the genre's best and brightest musicians maintain a legacy through albums like this. Though I was a little disappointed by the overall length of some of these tracks-c'mon, two minutes-the style, musicianship, and production are all great enough to keep me coming back to this release again and again. Somewhere between Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti and Earth, Wind & Fire lies Thundercat 's "Daylight". Synths morph and bump into rhythms over atmospheric vocals. The production sounds straight out of any disco from 1979, but better, sexier. Thundercat's Brainfeeder debut, The Golden Age of Apocolypse , will be released August 30th -- produced by FlyLo. Details below. Tracklisting: 1. HooooooO [...]

To say that Thundercat's sound is the sound of sensuality, I guess would be hitting the nail right on the head. After hearing his silk-sheets cover of "For Love I Come", he teases us with another track, "Daylight" off the Fly-Lo produced album entitled The Golden Age of Apocalypse (due out August 30). The song is a beautiful combination of Thundercat's finger-gliding bass and Fly-Lo's glitchy electronics, creating a sound for this artist that is becoming completely his own. Check out "Daylight" below- Thundercat - "Daylight"

Liberty's newest release is a bangin remix of Dumme Jungs - Daylight straight off their Daylight Remixed EP which dropped today on Beatport . This redux from the Los Angeles based production duo sets the table nicely for their upcoming ThunderFist EP as well as a batch of remixes that should make Liberty a household name by summers end. Liberty has given away a ton of [...]

Matt and Kim are a truly unique duo holding a place in my mind as the happiest musical act I have ever seen. If you watch them playing live you cant help but move with them, their infectious smiles and absolute genuine appreciation for being able to share their music with you. Their fantastic use of heavy beats and melodic piano riffs will get your feet moving before you even know you're dancing. "Dynamic" would sell them short, in the video for "lessons learned" they strip down completely naked in Times Square with only a camera and a [...]
![[Introducing] – Vermilion Club](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3443553_lg.jpg)
Tweet The cover art of "Home", the debut album from Binghampton University duo Vermilion Club, might have you geared up for a dreary experience. Fear not: those worries are dispelled the moment the music starts. "Daylight" kicks in with a snappy, upbeat guitar line and vocals delivered with childlike enthusiasm that doesn't fade at all across the album's 11 tracks. This isn't childish music though. Vermilion Club are adventurous and their instrumentation can get pretty complex, with an array of strings, Local Natives [...]
