The first handful of bands for the 2012 edition of the S.C.E.N.E. Music Festival have been announced. The St. Catharines Event for New Music Entertainment will again bring a number of punk, hardcore, metal and hip hop acts to the Niagara region this summer. Death By Stereo have announced that their new album, titled Black Sheep of the American Dream , will be released April 24th, 2012. It will be released by Viking Funeral Records, who signed the band earlier this year . The band last released Death Is My Only Friend in 2009.

As mentioned on this week's podcast , My Chemical Romance has named Death By Stereo 's Jarrod Alexander as their drummer after Mike Pedicone was kicked out after allegedly stealing from the band after a recent performance in Auburn. It is not official that Alexander will be the permanent replacement, but he will at least finish out the Honda Civic Tour that goes through the beginning of next month.
