This song was one of the early leaks off DCFC's latest album and still holds up as a solid track. Ben Gibbard and company don't make songs that get played out like most popular bands these days. It typically gets better with time. Go listen to Transatlanticism if you think I'm bullshittin'. DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE [...]

I guess the whole detective theme ties into the Codes and Keys title to Death Cab For Cutie 's latest album, but it seems a little strange coming from Death Cab. Like, shouldn't they be making heartwarming videos like this ? Apparently they're in their "spy-themed animated videos that end in suicide" phase. Okay, Death Cab.

Death Cab for Cutie sing about cutesy things like love and trees in the song "Underneath the Sycamore", from last year's Codes and Keys . In the track's Walter Robot -created music video, the action takes a turn toward the dark side as "cunning hipster private eye Mojowski " tracks a missing woman, and a mystery man to boot, across a gritty, noir-ish city. Eventually, our favorite P.I. finds the woman, standing atop the roof of the Hotel Sycamore. Whether he saves the girl and ends the day a hero winds up in [...]

Here they are. The 111 Best Albums of 2011 as voted on by you my readers. If you don't like the results...then vote for something better next year. I personally, always like the results of this list much better than most critic lists. This list is always more honest to me. While Adele dominated most lists...she only cracks the top 40 here. Or the Decemberists who barely made it on many

The Death Cab For Cutie mastermind was profiled by Runner's Magazine.
Two things I learned in the past 10 minutes: (1) Runner's World , a magazine for people who like to run, is a thing that exists, and (2) Ben Gibbard likes to run. The magazine recently profiled the Death Cab For Cutie frontman, who, come to think of it, has been looking way less doughy and more gristly lately. In the interview, Gibbard says convincing stuff about why he likes to run. The accompanying video, sadly, has no footage of Gibbard actually running, which could've been hilarious. The footage of him stretching in a recording studio, however, is pretty [...]
