Not that he needed it, but this upswing of Trap music has made Decibel 's stock go up just that much more. Although his style if more Dubstep than anything, there are definitely nuances of the former. It's really a nice marriage of the two genres. I'm not trying to put any spoilers out there, but I'm pretty excited to hear what he comes up with for his contribution to our Mix Series . Check out our previous spots on him to hear some of his "older" stuff or dig into his [...]

For their epic "On the Record" series, Metal Injection has thus far explored the topics of reunions, subgenres, how the internet has changed metal, and women in metal; now, for the season finale, they're looking to the future, wondering what's gonna be next for extreme music. As in prior episodes, the Injectioners rounded up a wide range of metallic experts [...]

To the shock and dismay of some men and the surprise and delight of others, the past ten years have demonstrated, inarguably, that women can like metal, too. This seems like it should be a fairly simple nonissue, and yet, somehow, it is not - because never mind that some knuckle draggers are still like [...]

Here's managing editor Andrew Bonazelli… John Milton has influenced global pop culture in some pretty weird ways. On this side of the pond, it's manifested in memorable Al Pacino and Brad Pitt histrionics. On [...]

Melding electronica with lo-fi indie seems to be done thing right now and the latest band to throw their intoxicating sound into the mix is Decibels . The five piece release a single, The Lesser (below), on March 26th and have a track featured on a forthcoming Warp records compilation. Boasting a sound that is at once insatiably catchy while remaining both mysterious and unique, we're expecting big things from them. We're giving away a free Mp3 from them at the bottom of the page and we also grabbed a chat with them to find out [...]
![[New] Decibels – The Lesser](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4142878_lg.jpg)
Decibels are one of the more unique groups that I've come across this year. Their combination of Indie Rock and Electronica displayed on their new single "The Lesser" shows the band emphasizing their strengths and maybe hinting at a new direction? Its too soon to say, but their previous releases have been glitchy and atmospheric so this new cut could be a game changer. As for the track itself, well, there's no denying that chorus. It swells and sings above the synth tracks and, further still, the active drum lines. Look for the official release [...]

Decibels combine melodic electronica and indie-rock to great effect on "The Lesser", their debut single, which is set to be released March 26th. While the rest of the tracks on their Soundcloud have a more ambient and glitchy feel (which has led to them being featured on a forthcoming Bleep x Warp Compilation), this one goes big, with a soaring chorus, hyperactive percussion and bright synth-work that has the band coming across a bit like a lo-fi Metronomy. Check it out below, along with a rather depressing video that sees "The Lesser" as a [...]
