This week's Ruby Tuesday is the well travelled and respected Jimi Cullen who has arrived on my radar in the last weeks. Stated on his site: "It all began with Jimi hitchhiking around Ireland to his first gigs until he could afford a car at which time he started playing wherever he could and has since played some of Irelands finest stages with some of Irelands top acts like John Spillane, Paddy Casey, Declan O Rourke, The Revs, Aslan, David Kitt, Jinx Lennon, Mary Coughlan, Eleanor Mc Evoy, Roesy and the list goes on. His debut e.p. "Anthems [...]

Nell Bryden is touring in our neck of the woods so there's a good chance you will be hearing more from this Dixie Queen. I seen Nell live in Whelans last year and she was massively entertaining, with great vocals and stage pressence. Her new album has just been released into the shops and I'm sure Nell will pick up many friends on her journey through the land! Here's a mini bio of Nell on http://www.goodseedpr.com : "NELL BRYDEN caused a stir in the press last year when she funded her career with a [...]

The list includes Jeff Buckley, Townes Van Zandt, The Arctic Monkeys, Bloc Party, The National, David Gray and hundreds more. Here are my own personal [...]
![Peadar King - The Nature of Flaws [Album Review]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/1677302_lg.jpg)
Recently I was listening to a recently purchased Irish artist compilation album in the car when I heard 'Wanted Something'. You know the moment you hear a song that is near perfection at that moment in time? 'Wanted Something' was that song for me and led me to seek out it's creator; Peadar King. 'The Nature of Flaws' is the debut album by Peadar King released last July. I am reviewing this album here now because I have this hunger to tell [...]
Declan O'Rourke is set to start work on his third album in the coming months. Following an extensive Australian tour, Declan shed some light on the year ahead. "Australia is my second home. I loved every minute of it. I spent a month there touring, and the whole thing was a bit of a creative explosion for me, which is fantastic. "I'm very excited about recording my third studio album. I'm working on new material all the time, so I've got a busy year ahead of me." After [...]

International Artists: Nell Bryden With four major tours in the last 12 months and more than 180 gigs performed in 2008 (totaling almost 500 in just [...]

Any fan of music blogs will notice that for the next few days it will seem like St. Patrick threw up all over the musical blogsphere. And that's great! I don't want to be adding to mix of Pogues and Dubliners mp3s just yet. The sevens tunes I have chosen today are songs I think sum up the Ireland of today and to me they represent current modern Irish Culture. Ian Whitty & The Exchange - Fallen Stars [In Late Night Bars] Mp3 MySpace Alphastates - What Are You [...]

Irish born Rock & Soul singer and former member of the Dublin Gospel Choir, Padraig Rushe, will release his debut album 'GreyWorld' this March 6th with a gig in The Sugar Club. Padriag is a member of the Dublin Gospel Choir performing in the past with the likes of Paddy Casey, Declan O'Rourke and Liam Ó Maonlai. His debut is a fusion of funk, soul and rock with vocals somewhere between Jeff Buckley and Bill Withers. I'm really looking forward to the album launch. http://www.padraigrushe.com/ http://www.myspace.com/padraig rushe [...]

As a lover of Irish Music I still think Hot Press do a great job with their magazine every two weeks. However, I was a tad annoyed at the current failure to feature any news of Mark Dignam's homecoming gigs as guests to The Swell Season next Thursday and as headliner in Whelans on the 8th Feb with very special guests. Now I know I'm at risk of flooding the blog with Marky news so I do apologise but I wanna focus on who those special guests might be! Remember we are talking about Very Special Guests! [...]

First, before I delve in further, just a disclaimer: I am not claiming these songs were posted NEW over the summer...some of them I just found for the first time over the summer, and for all I know they have been up online since one Christmas past. So it may show my cunning to find cool stuff online, or show that I am slow to the draw and some other bloggers beat me to the punch. First off, some tracks I am fairly certain were new this past summer, and these were posted online on [...]
