Before San Francisco band Koalacaust broke up in October, they left us a few new releases of excellent well formulated material, namely the full length 'Smiles Shine Like Broken Glass' last August and the December 2010 split EP with Big Kids. The former is where today's track 'The Woods' is taken from, an epic pop-punk narrative that comes together quite well, from the urgent vocals to the firing instrumentation. Here's a bit of a background sent over by Joe Hughes: "Koalacaust started in 2008 in LA but has since relocated to San Francisco. Originally a somewhat folky [...]

More fab 2006 electro goodness from the Hoaxx boys as they remixed Defuncts! 'We Are The Party' Feat. A Girl A Boy. It comes out next week and it bangs. But in a good way. Cue a big intro, banging beats, trashy looped, side-chained synths and bass. It wins. Proper 2006 fodder. DEFUNCT!- We Are The Party (Hoaxx Remix) by Mr HBF Out next week. HOAXX FACEBOOK [...]
Destroying aerial and sound waves alike, this newly found New Jersey/New York native dissects, chops and micro-blends an aura of stupendous intensity that pings back your ears from bleeding hidden terrain dubstep tensions, and glorifies the cochlea with well received progressive melodies and distinctive energies which sometimes lie non existent in the seamless flow of dubstep-endorsed tracks. Starting off with the lead jewel, Matt's bootleg of Dada Life's ' White Noise Red Meat ' hits all the right spots nicely and leaves no room for ambiguity. Suicide Sundaes – stop your grinnin' and drop your linen. Every Sunday electblake of Earmilk will bring you the weeks dirty servings, and some old favorites through a throwdown-throwback to simpler times. A time when bangers were big, remixes were bigger, the bassline bled, and we didn't care about anything as long as came in kicking and left screaming. To hell with sketchy Sunday, we want to shove another dragon down the hole. Week Fourty Five - wow. We're less then two months of a full years worth of Suicide Sundaes and the closer we get the more [...]

It occurred to me on Friday that THE SHAKE has been running for four years now. I can't believe LOTEK and I have spent nearly every Friday night together in the KICK FM studio since. We started playing mostly mashups and bootlegs but have run the gamut of dance music's vast reach. (I'm proud to say though, we still haven't played any trance! Ha!) Here are the tunes from this week. The show is always spontaneous and as you'll see [...]
Monolythe - The Moves (Defunct Remix)

If you checked out my post here , you know that I have been busy ripping vinyl like a mad man. It's not a ton of fun...but one good thing that has come out of it is that I am rediscovering my music collection. I have DJ'ed in Seattle , Orlando, and Las Vegas. While going through my tracks I think I've found tracks that remind me of each city or specific gigs. Well it's some angle to share some of this music with you. It's important for me to share this music for [...]
LA's up and coming producer, Henry Steinway (aka Clockwork ), send me over a new remix he did for UK lounge/rock duo, Visitor . Tis a well put together remix, filled with heavy synths and chopped vocals. Be sure to keep an eye out for Binary Records ' "LA Lights," where Clockwork's tracks will be featured. Visitor- Los Feeling (Clockwork remix) [...]

Time for some Fidget House. It may be a dying breed, but I still love it. -M Family Reunion (Dem Slackers Shit Loads Below Zero Mix) - Kid Sister Sounds a lot like Hervé , and that's definitely a good thing. I Got U Dancing (Tommy Trash Remix) - Lady Sovereign This would kill live, such a cool bass. Take Me To The Hospital (Adam F & Horx Remix) - The Prodigy So awesome, they make The Prodigy [...]
Although many indie groups may come and go, some stay with us forever. With Cedars, whose last album Another Season made a giant impact in 2007, we're left a stunning album from a group so ... No related posts.

I can't remember where I got this remix, but I'm glad I did. I'll admit it, as a kid I actually used to like the original.... It now gets puts into that "cheese" category, but whenever it gets played it still takes me back to those days. That being said, this remix by Defunct! has transformed this song into some seriously rugged, bass-heavy electro and I dare anyone not to get turned on to this track now. Snow - Informer [...]

I recently made this fidget house mix as I felt I'd kind of abandoned the genre a bit, and wanted to get back into it again. There's been a large amount of really generic, boring and overtly jokey fidget doing the rounds recently that made me think less of the music. However there's also been some more interesting and diverse stuff with more intricate production that's been coming out, which has made me reconsider. This mix contains the sort of fidget that's been pleasing my ears of late, namely of the more glitchy, driving, electro-tinged variety, with a [...]
