The duo Degrees , hailing from Tranås, is back with a new album, "Dream On Dreamy". Compared to their EP "Pt III", which I wrote about last year , they don't hold back on anything this time. It's grand pop from the beginning to the end, bombastic enough to fill out the sound space on any big arena. I've mentioned the Degrees and their forthcoming output just recently (re-read here ), and now there's a video for yet another new song which in my opinion is their strongest piece so far... in fact I think it's the best song they've ever released! Idiot Dreaming is an 8-minute-monster that just oozes of guitars and fast-forward synth-walls, and it keeps a powerful pace until the bitter end... simply fantastic! An der Stelle ist es wieder schwer den richtigen Anfang zu finden. Waren Degrees aus Schweden anfangs nur eine Entdeckung hier im Blog, entwickelte sich daraus dann später eine Zusammenarbeit mit meinem Label afmusic. In May Degrees released the EP "Pt III", and also the predecessors, accordingly named "Pt II" and "Pt I", was made available on the net. Basically it's about a warm, melodious electronica; synth pop with some strokes of indie with messy guitars. Degrees consists of the duo Mikael Jacobson and Rickard Folke, both hailing from the deep forests around Tranås, where they formed Degrees in 2008. Das schwedische Duo Degrees hat soeben seine dritte EP veröffentlicht, die den bezeichnenden Titel «Pt.III» trägt – erschienen sind die 6 Tracks des Minialbums auf afmusic , und man kann sich die Lieder entweder klassisch auf CD oder als Download für taschengeldfreundliche 2,90 € kaufen. Schon letztes Jahre schaffte es der grandiose Song «Can't walk thru this alone» in meine Jahrescharts, denn diese schmachtend-fetzige Variante des 80er Revivals wusste mich sofort zu begeistern. Svenska elektropop/shoegaze-duon Degrees har bara ett år på nacken som grupp, men låter redan som gamla - fast bra - veteraner med klockrena produktioner och kraftfulla texter. Nu meddelar de, via er tillgivne, att de i takt med snöns bortsmältning kommer att leverera fem nya låtar varje fredag på deras Bandcamp . Vi har tidigare bjudit på en låt från Tranås-duon Degrees. Nu när de håller på att spela in sin tredje skiva passar vi på att bjuda på en till. Denna gång är det låten Can't Walk Thru This Alone , som även är skivans första singel. Det är en till början småseg och dov historia innan refrängen fullkomligt slår omkull en med dess stora och tunga ljudbild, och som får många låtar från 80-talet med liknande en ljudbild att ställa sig i skamvrån.
