When Tiesto comes within a 50 mile radius of your location to play, as an EDM fan you do whatever you can to make it there! Well....unless you're me with an overbearing boss and a severe lack of "sick days". But thankfully, one of my buddies, Steve, was able to get out to Pacha NYC for this [...]
In a rather unexpected divergence of ways, CARNAL FORGE bassist Lars Lindén declared that the band will be "taking a pause, and put on ice for an unspecified time." Though the hiatus is definite, and their upcoming release, in suspension, the prospects of them reuniting are looking rather murky. In a statement to the press, ...

This mashup adds some nice vocals and sounds to Afrojack's "Doing It Right", which has received a lot of popularity the past few weeks. It really starts to go off around 1:12 and doesn't disappoint. The bass is a perfect compliment to the sick beat. Blast this gem.

Delerium (featuring Jaël) - After All
Of course we'd get word from our friend Dimitry Mak that he'd been finishing up this remix for Delerium's nice track from 2003 "After All" (featuring the vocals from Jael) under the guise of a new moniker paying homage to his present hero, Charlie Sheen. The moniker is TIGERBLOOD and the remix is quite nice, [...]

I'll be brief here because there is not too much to say about this masterpiece. It is the epitome of trance. You need to listen to feel . Quite possibly the best workout song ever, "Silence" by Delirium ft Sarah McLachlan has been re-done by Tiesto resulting in a 12 minute journey through your emotions. Try bumping this song while you run - you will be surprised at its ability to distract you from the 'pain' of the cardio. The music builds up consistently throughout the song eventually resulting in a crescendo of noise and emotional exploration. [...]

There have been thousands of releases within the trance genre over the past decade or so, and never has there been a chart which tells us what the most popular tunes are. Armada took upon themselves to get this right and after months of voting, the Trance Top 1000 have been revealed. Here are the top ten: 1. Delerium feat. Sarah McLachlan - Silence (Tiësto's In Search Of Sunrise Remix) 2. Rank 1 - Airwave (Original Mix) 3. Motorcycle feat. Jes - As The Rush Comes (Gabriel [...]
This installment in the Influenza series focuses on the lead-track from Conjure One's new release, Exilarch , following the song's timeline from inspiration to becoming a staple in Rhys Fulber's live set.

In their latest release Voice: An Acoustic Collection , they take their previously unreleased versions of Delerium's most memorable tracks and transform them into acoustic renditions instead of hiding behind the electronica. Tracklist 1. Send Me An Angel (featuring Miranda Lee Richards)* 2. Dust In Gravity (Acoustic) (featuring Kreesha Turner) 3. Too Late, [...]

High Rankin and Evolve or Die, we featured last week with their recent Gramophonedzie remix . This week the two have teamed up again and dropped a heavier dubstep edit of Delerium 's trance classic 'Silence'. For enormous nostalgia value if nothing else, you need to hear this track: • Delerium feat. Sarah McLachlan - Silence (High Rankin & Evolve or Die remix) Bonus: • [...]
Vancouver's electro pop outfit Delerium returns this month with "Dust In Gravity," a brand-new track that is a lot more soulful than their previous dancefloor powered jams. This new single features the vocals of Canadian R&B singer and two time Juno nominee Kreesha Turner. It's a gentle tune with an uplifting chorus that nicely emphasizes Turner's warming vocals. "Dust In Gravity" will be available as special bonus track on the upcoming Delerium compilation album "Remixed: The Definitive Collection" that is available on on March 2, 2010. Directed by FireBoy Productions' Stephen Scott, the video for [...]

Ok, so Delerium are best known for their supposed revamping of that Sarah McLachlan track. But, this is a far cry from that not in a bad way, but just in a completely different direction. This has great remix potential and we are glad they didn't pick a run-of-the-mill vocalist. Kreesha Turner has a very unique voice and it fits well. Oh, hail Canada! I can honestly say I'm a fan of pretty much everything Emily Haines has done so far, musically. There is Metric of course, and there is her solo stuff, but there's also - let's not forget - her many wonderful collaborations. Some, like " Anthems for a 17-year Old Girl ", seem to be universally loved while others, like " Stopwatch Hearts " or " Uptown Girl ", are less well known. From her songs with Stars and The Stills, to her involvement in Crystal Method and even Tiesto projects - it seems that this is one musician who cannot [...]

Tonight's Acoustic Sundays feature The Gaslight Anthem , The Kooks and Death Cab For Cutie , three bands that I'm sure all of you indie kids like (I'm not that sure about The Kooks but whatever LOL). As for the last song, here is yet another version of Delerium 's Silence - forget all about Tiesto and the like though because this is not cheesy trance but a very emotional acoustic take that brings to mind Kate Bush. Enjoy! The Gaslight Anthem - The [...]

Toronto - A seasoned and talented jazz quartet with a couple of critically acclaimed albums under their belt. An intimate venue with great acoustics mere steps from the subway line. A reasonable ticket price as part of the Toronto Jazz Festival. So why were there only about 10 people in the crowd for Delerium's wonderful show at Church of the Redeemer on Saturday night? It certainly wasn't the band's fault. I love jazz shows because it's a treat to see a talented jazz musician on stage, the way they can play at a level that seems otherworldly [...]

So, it's a meh day. I got some fanmail... yay. Or nay? Who knows. I need a cigarette but I'm out so I'm just dealing with it, never cool. Ramble ramble give me a lighter ramble ramble. Delerium - Duende Delerium - euphoria (firefly) God please give me a cigarette. Or hell, let Jeremy remember to bring back my coffee maker. Please.

A bit of prime trance for you. Described by Mixmag Magazine as "dancefloor semtex", Above & Beyond are Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness, Paavo Siljamäki They started in 2000 and quickly made a name for themselves. In 2004, Above & Beyond scooped Radio 1's Essential Mix of the Year - prompting Pete Tong to describe them as the 'UK's new dance superstars'. Since then, Above & Beyond have enjoyed a meteoric rise, culminating in six nominations at last year's International Dance Music Awards in Miami. In 2006 Above & Beyond released their debut [...]

Is it truly the first Sunday of November already? Somehow I can't quite comprehend that, but the calender doesn't lie, it just speeds up sometimes. The weather's definitely been leaning towards winter, global warming-induced fluctuations aside, and unfortunately that's only bound to get worse. Daylight Savings ends today, meaning things get darker quicker, but hopefully the hour tweak will make my insomnia slightly less pronounced. Enjoy the tunes...and the extra sleep.
