These Swedish guys impressed me a lot with their album but also with their concert last Fall in Paris. The girl playing keyboard left with tears in the eyes, as the main part of the massive crowd. Tweet Yes, friends. It's exactly as you all feared... It's another edition of the records that found their way into my heart and stayed there for the majority of the year. Over the course of the year there were records that didn't make the list which in the beginning of the year I thought would be here for sure but ended up either being disappointments (see Falcon by the Courteeners or My Best Friend Is You by Kate Nash) or they simply fell just short (see History Of Modern by [...]
Speaking of album releases, 2010 was definitely the strongest year of the decade. There is so much stuff I heard over the internet, and so much I didn't. Today I will share with you the most exciting albums I've heard the past 12 months. Welcome to Nite Versions' Top Albums of 2010! 30 albums. 5 albums per day. You have no idea how many changes I made here, #15-11. I wanted to include Fortune 's Staring At The Ice Melt or The Holidays ' Post Paradise but sadly, the positions are not unlimited. [...]

So it's time for a new Best of the Year post. I won't bore you with the usual "it was sooo difficult selecting the tracks", even if it was. For example my already cropped-down list of 25 suddenly grew to 34 just before I went to bed last night. I managed to get it down to 25 again today, and compared to the thousands of tracks I've listened to this year they have all been in the top of my most played lists, have meant something special or generally made a big impression [...]

It's been almost a year since we discovered Haydn Hoffman , and in that year we've seen him grow from some random name in a long line-up of dropbox artists, to a name blogged across the dancesphere and plenty of quality remixes that have caught everyone's ear. I commended him on his ear for electro as well as dance - and we've seen it proven again and again. Now we see his latest release - which drops today on Ventuno Records which comes with support remixes by Toronto's own [...]
Music is funny. When I started making this list, my first reaction was to look at the albums i listened to MOST. I realize now those albums all satisfied my emotions but probably aren't the best albums released for the year. If you don't like that, watch this youtube video instead. Lists suck. Enjoy. 1 - Two Door Cinema Club -Tourist History This album kicks ass... its basically how i define pop for the year. its upbeat, easy on the ears, fun [...]

Simon Iddol - MOVING mix [ download page ] 01 Jamie Woon - Night Air 02 Fabio Lendrum - Trouble (CFCF remix) 03 Glass Candy - The Chameleon (Johan Agebjorn remix) 04 Chromatics - In The City 05 The Hood Internet - Slow Submission (R Kelly VS Delphic) this is the most personal thing I’ve ever done a fucked mindtrip the sound of now 200% Simon Iddol

Upside Sounds proudly presents its list of the Top Remixes of 2010 . This list consists of tracks that we personally discovered in 2010, so don’t throw a fit if some of the songs are actually from 2009. We intend to showcase the artists and tracks that meant the most to us in this abundant year of great music. We’ll be counting down five tracks a day for the next five days. Here’s day three of our countdown – as always, we hope you guys enjoy! [...]

I went to a lot of gigs this year. (If you need the evidence, my gig list is under the cut, click the link further down in this post.) The more amazing gigs you go to, the more difficult it is to choose your top 5 performances for the year. I haven't taken this task lightly, and without further adieu, here are my top live picks of 2010: 5. Delphic at Washington's DC9, Liberation Dance Party (Friday 8th October 2010) - Most of my local friends do not share [...]

Another year has gone, which means with the whole load of albums released in 2010, your faithful editor has gone through and chosen what she considers the best of the year. Agree? Disagree? As always on TGTF, comments are welcome. 1. Delphic - 'Acolyte' (Polydor/Chimeric) - It's always dangerous to say an album released so early in the year is wonderful, because you leave no room for anything else that comes after it. But after minimal internal debate, it was obvious which album I [...]

2010 was a year that seemed to be eternally searching for it's sound, looking for music that could kick start the next decade's defining genre and go on to dominate the next generation of teenagers. Sub-genres were amplified, as we heard a lot of angry noise (Sleigh Bells) and shoegazing chillwave (dozens of artists from the East Coast of America), which perhaps reflects our economic times. Elsewhere, just about every other genre made an appearance, so long as you can put an 'ALT' before it. Who goes on to influence the rest and which albums will be lucky [...]

Delphic - Acolyte There’s something about this album that I still can’t put my finger on despite having listened to it for the first time around this time last year. I’m not sure why I love it quite as much as I do, but I certainly have my reasons. One of them is that I stepped away from this album almost entirely for a good chunk of 2010, and it’s only now that I’m rediscovering it. It saw out 2009 and saw in 2010. For me, there are memories attached to ‘Acolyte’, of all [...]
We thought we would compile the ubiquitous "Top 10 of the year" and rather than limit it to just albums we thought we would open it up to artists in general. Every conceivable type of music that we've loved over 2010 - singles vs albums, mixtapes vs bootlegs; anything goes. Oh and we'll do 20. Who wants ten anyway ? That's not even one a month. Stick with us for the best of the year. And there won't be any running order that would be cruel and elitist. Click the links for a present from the artist. As with all [...]
![[Mixtape] Top 20 albums of 2010: The Mixtape](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3029547_lg.jpg)
Yes folks, that's right! If you didn't get enough of my top 20 albums of the year on Monday (check it here in case you missed it), we've decided to take all of that musical goodness and serve it up in mixtape form for your listening pleasure. That's right, each of the 20 tracks on this mixtape is either a track from one of my top 20 albums or a remix of a track from one of my top 20 albums. And since I like to keep things neat and orderly and easy to keep [...]
"I wouldn't stop the red lights, I wouldn't come up for air/I wouldn't stop the red lights, I wouldn't even have to think twice" Aproveita-se este feriado para dar continuidade e algum relevo às músicas que mais me preencheram em 2010 e aumentar parte do Top 2010. O tema que se apresenta na posição #25 chega do Reino Unido e quem o traz são os Delphic. "Red Lights", do álbum de estreia dos
I don't really try to hide the fact that I really like remixes. In fact, I'd say the majority of the stuff we post here are remixes (despite the often lengthy names that become a bear to type out time after time). But it makes sense really, most of them are unofficial and/or sent to us, so they're typically 100% safe to post, and I like the way that these producers can take an existing song and visualize it as something completely different in their heads. I like all kinds of remixes, but I find myself more [...]

Fenech-Soler have just made their video for 'Demons' available via their MySpace. The track is from their self titled Debut LP which is available to buy now. Look out for the tracks official release in 2011. Is it me or are these guys looking like 2011's Delphic? it's like Deja Vu...
Well, it's that time of year again. Even though there are still a few weeks left in the year, we've decided to name our favorite albums of the year. But before we begin, let me go on a little rant about the state of music. It's nothing we haven't heard before but I wanted to say it anyway. Basically, what I'm saying is, there is no possible way for one person to listen to every album that's released, much less give them all a few listens to determine their ability to grow on you as albums [...]
