Delta Spirit – Bushwick Blues (The Waits Room Version)
The Voodoo Experience is now in the rearview and the relentless fall concert schedule is starting to slow down (although one could easily keep themselves busy on the live circuit until NYE) and therefore it's time to start speculating about the 2012 Jazz Fest lineup. Hard to say who will be at the top of [...]

In this special, Friday edition: The Wiggles get Rewiggled , discover Analog Rebellion, and we resume our Blogophilia re-posts with Volume 18. Rewiggled? If you've had a child in the past twenty years (or if you've been one in the last twenty), it's hard not to go by a bowl of fruit salad and proclaim it as yummy, yummy. Thanks to the Disney Channel, The Wiggles have left an indelible mark on children worldwide. It's hard to believe this Aussie act is 20 [...]
The L.A. 101 Festival went out with a bang (of confetti) this year with 4 bands that did Los Angeles proud.

Win Tix: LA 101 w/ Airborn Toxic Event @ Gibson Amp – Universal City, CA – 10/23/11 Win Tix: LA 101 w/ Airborn Toxic Event, Tokyo Police Club,Built To Spill and Delta Spirit @ Gibson Amp The LA Weekly's LA 101 fest is back and this year the line up is clutch. The Airborn Toxic Event will be supported by Tokyo Police Club, Built To Spill and Delta Spirit. I have heard amazing things about all of these bands [...]
Austin City Limits served as the ultimate break from the status quo, an ephemeral voyage to a utopia far removed from normative daily life, embedded in the heart of one America's most interesting cities. Also, the extended weekend was a long overdue first trip to Austin, TX for me personally, and I immediately became enamored with the place (a city with great live music and great Mexican food - is this real life ?). The familiar ambitions of seeing as many bands as humanly possible and packing a month's worth of debaucherousness [...]

ACL is more festival than music and I am fine with that. No pit access meant getting to spend more time with friends meandering from stage to stage. I did have my "little" camera with me so I could share some of the random things seen during the three days. Head on past the break for some images from Friday. Easing into the Festival with Cults was a good idea. This is the second instance of seeing Foster the People booked on too small of a [...]

And cue the collective sigh of relief (or remorse, depending): festival season is over. Basically. With the triumphant conclusion of Arcade Fire on Friday night, the 2011 installments of the "Big Four" are officially kaput. There are a few minor festivals here and there left for fall and winter to tide us over until next April in Indio, but by and large we've seen what 2011 had to offer. We don't want to get too sentimental or take the spotlight away from Austin City Limits , but it was a hell of a year, folks. From Dave Grohl and [...]

Good news for My Morning Jacket fans just dropped in my inbox. While the band is coming off a triumphant headlining set on Saturday night at ACL Fest , they're looking ahead to a December full of awesomeness with the announcement that they'll be playing dates with Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Delta Spirit and Band of Horses , with the latter band getting the honor of gracing the stage with MMJ at their return to Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, December 14th. [...]

Photo by Debi Del Grande My Morning Jacket have announced another leg of U.S. tour dates in support of their recent LP, Circuital . After conquering the UK and Europe in November, Jim James and co. will begin December with a pair of shows in L.A. From there, they'll travel east, splitting bills with Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings and Delta Spirit along the way, before making their way up the East coast. The trek will then come to a close when My Morning Jacket teams up with [...]

Yesterday was an amazing first day out at Zilker Park in Austin, TX for this year's 10th running of the Austin City Limits Music Festival . I caught a few sets to warm up the day, with my first exposure to both Delta Spirit and Fool's Gold leaving me nicely impressed and plenty of warmed-up to move on and get my photo pass on. First up for me was a guy I've heard a lot about through the blogs and media: James Blake . I really had no exposure to his music [...]
Last night at Emo's Outside I re-realized why I'm such a big Delta Spirit fan and have been since the the release of their rookie record Ode To Sunshine. In short, these guys know how write good songs and deliver them on the live stage every time. Like the great Trevor Hoffman, Mark Wohlers, Kyra Sedgwick or Mariano Rivera, these guys were the perfect closer last night (wow – dumb analogy), running out of the 'pen after an impressive showing from the home team and blinding the onlookers with their incredible gusto, energy and brilliant delivery. After already-impressive sets from [...]
![AUSTIN CITY LIMITS 2011 [GUIDE]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3723812_lg.jpg)
As we get ourselves ready for the end of summer and the bone-crushing cold that comes with the change of season, it's time to focus important things like family, friends, and getting heavily intoxicated while listening to one spectacular band after another - you know, the important things. So it is with great joy in our hearts that we pack up our things and ship out to Austin for one of our last festivals of the year, the illustrious Austin City Limits . In order to properly prepare our psyches (and yours) for the [...]

Words by Jim It's really hard to remember how bands got their music out before the advent of the internet. How did that work? I seriously have no idea and I guess if you weren't signed to a label, well, you're shit out of luck. Small labels barely existed and bands scrapped their way around local towns. Blog was just a funny word inside someones head. Man. Sounds like the dark ages to me. So it's only fitting that the internets have brought me a band that harkens back to the days long before [...]
