The music of the L.A. trio Detective sounds as if it could have come from dusty tapes found in the 4AD archive. Punk outfit Occult Detective Club is a nice reminder of the new wave punk I always liked listening to. I'm reminded of high energy bands like the Ramones and Suicide Machines when I listen to them, yet there's something even more to them that makes them original.
