Liebe Leserinnen und Leser, please fall in love with: www.blogotheque.net!
The second promoclip for Time is the state of my jeans, featuring Vicky Bruce of Island Records and Guy Garvey (Snow Patrol). [[ Go to pocketrevolution.blogspot.com for the full article! ]]

Today, it's exactly 15 years since I first heard the debut album by dEUS . Now, you may be wondering how I can be so precise on the timing, so I'll explain. 'Worst Case Scenario' was one of the CD shaped presents I ripped the wrapping off on my 17th birthday. Today is 15 years since my 17th birthday. Hence it's also 15 years since I heard that record. All of which is my completely unsubtle way of saying that today is my birthday. Hurrah for me. There is however an ulterior [...]

The sexiest electro rock and roll couple ever (move over Chris and Dexy Valentine !!) - Vive La Fete ; is releasing their sixth studio album, Disque D'or in December 2009 in the UK. This is the Belgian electro-glamrock answer to The Kills - sexy, bass heavy filth, driving synths, distorted guitars layered with the voice and lyrics of a 60s french songstress. A brief history on these guys: Danny Mommens (ex dEUS, yeah remember Sister Dew, just awesome!) and his hot blonde girlfriend Elys Pynoo met in 1997, fell crazily in love and [...]
Recorded live in an Antwerp recording studio in 2008: [Part of Deus weekend ]
More Deus now, and this is Sister Dew - the proper video and everything to what many people (warning - unscientific poll) consider to be their greatest single: [Part of Deus weekend ]
Taken from an anti-racism concert in Antwerp in 2006, Deus run through Sun Ra: [Part of Deus weekend ]
From - as they requested - the YouTube channel, Deus doing Hotellounge: [Part of Deus weekend ]
Here's an interesting video artifact - Deus doing The Architect with a ghettoblaster (their description - doesn't look much like it could blast all that much of a ghetto from here) in Rotterdam: [Part of the Deus weekend ]
Some Belgian proggy-pop today, as - surprisingly - we've never dipped into the mind of Tom Barman before in the semi-regular padding-out-the-weekend-posts- with-video feature. Deus are hitting their 20th year this year and, partly by dint of keeping going for so long, they're the most successful Belgian rock act of all time. With about five albums. It's not easy being a Belgian rock act, clearly. Let's start with Instant Street - which, in itself, is now ten years old. dEUS - Instant Street [...]
Audiţie plăcută! he plus she equals harmony The National feat. St. Vincent - Sleep All Summer [...]
Marjolein Deckers will be on stage with dEUS this week doing the backing vocals. She's currently part of de Triplettes, a band who brings music from the 40's and 50's and is also performing solo.In... [[ Go to pocketrevolution.blogspot.com for the full article! ]]

Consisting of members from Belgian's finest bands such as The Glimmers, Vive La Fête, dEUS & Tim Vanhamel (Millionaire), you can be sure the boys know how to do it right. Still, don't expect anything you've heard before. Just like their Physical cover, this Who You Gonna Call is nothing like the original . Disko Drunkards - Who You Gonna Call (ALT) And a little something extra, just because it's the 1st of July Disko Drunkards - Picture (ALT)

That lucky bastard called Michael Illegems had the chance to visit dEUS in the studio. Luckily he shares some pics with us on his Flickr-page. [[ Go to pocketrevolution.blogspot.com for the full article! ]]

A Sweet Swede i haven't talked about yet, Karin Dreijer Andersson is everywhere! While brother Olaf is working on an opera (!) about Charles Darwin, Karin is just about to release her album 18/23 March. Fellow Swede D. Lissvik (1/2 Studio) made a lovely version of When I Grow Up, giving it the typical Studio sweetness. Fever Ray - When I Grow Up (Version by D. Lissvik) (ALT) Next, there is of course Röyksopp's album, set to release 23 March. Not their [...]

No listen! This is good! Musical Mood: P.A.R.T.Y. Rough Genre: Electro/Rock/Pop Some cracking classics remixed by Soulwax/2ManyDJs for you. This Rebel Rebel remix is fantastic. You could nicely drop this into the middle of a set starting with - "I am a DJ, I am what I play" - then gradually breaking into the signature guitar twangs of the original. Phoar! And! Bonus - here's the 2ManyDJs remix of dEUS Everybody's Weird . [...]

Depuis, il multiplie les groupes (souvent plusieurs en même temps) : Kiss my Jazz, Gore Slut, Dead Man Ray, The Love Substitutes, Rudy Trouvé Sextet, POX, etc. I know we're always gushing about FabChannel , but frankly I still find it a mystery why this site isn't more popular. Dr. Dog was one of my favorite bands of 2008 and this concert further showcases their talent. Being that their earlier stuff is not very well recorded, this gig also sheds more light on their earlier material. Watch it! And when you're done, head over to FabChannel to catch some other excellent concerts like MGMT and dEUS .
