Metronomy's 3rd release seems distant from the discopop the band first made their name for. Frontman Joseph Mount re-imagines his home town of Totnes in Devon as a sun kissed and hip destination where people come to relax and forget about their troubles. It may be slightly removed from the truth, global warming permitting, but [...]

![DEVON WILLIAMS RELEASED THE CURE TO WINTER BLUES [FREE MP3]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3860578_lg.jpg)
Your Sympathy - Devon Williams // Buy Revelations - Devon Williams // Buy Devon Williams (@devontwilliams) released his Euphoria LP just as the days began getting a bit shorter and a lot colder, but the vibe is so completely summer-y, that it's difficult to notice. On his first solo full-length since 2008's Carefree , the LA singer/songwriter created a soundscape that sounds a bit like 1970s Beatles on mushrooms (well, double mushrooms). [...]
[ download ] [tweetmeme] After many repeated listens, it all boils down to this: the problem with Devon Williams ' "Your Sympathy" is that when ends after three and a half minutes, you're just going to want to listen to it again. However, further spins only amplify the issue, making you more inclined to want to hear it once more. It's a powerful feedback loop-this song is a mesmerizing enchantress. "Your Sympathy" was first released as the A-side of a single back in late June [...]

Click image to download track Sounds like: The Shins, Sondre Lerche "Devon Williams - Your Sympathy" What's so good? Devon Williams' "Your Sympathy" is the kind of upbeat pop music that's awesome to wake up to in the morning. Williams, a Los Angeles native, blends jingle-jangle guitars with high-pitched, echoing vocals. You would never guess that he once played in a punk band. [...]
Always bringing the most creative flows to his songs, G-Eazy samples LCD Soundsystem's "Dance Yourself Clean" and absolutely crushes it. This track came off of his most recent mixtape, "The Endless Summer", that dropped back in August. He's got a couple awesome songs on the tape, so if you haven't checked it yet I highly recommend downloading it ( click here to link to his site ). G-Eazy - All I Could Do (ft. Skizzy Mars & Devon Baldwin) Had to throw up "Runaround Sue" again... This is [...]
Newcomer to Before the Bigs, Florida native A-lis, gives us a hot track. With a catchy hook, and smooth verses by A-Lis, this one should be a pleaser to all of our hip-hop fans. Head over to his facebook page for more info on the man. Be on the lookout for more music from him, Before [...]
Fifteen year old Pop and Dance music singing sensation Devon Brooke is set to release her highly anticipated Fortified Records debut CD, This Is My Time, featuring the chart climbing hit single, "Heartbeat" in August, 2011. Since its release, "Heartbeat" racked up an amazing 998 spins in one week alone on broadcast and Internet radio, [...]
From the lineup shadows of bands Fingers Cut Megamachine! and Lavender Diamond, Devon Williams emerges with his second solo LP, Euphoria . Though the LA singer/songwriter's resume is heavy with So-Cal punk and indie folk acts, his new release is a weird, melted mass of gumdrop indie pop. Off the bat, Williams' color-saturated falsetto is full of quirks. Chiming and cute opener "Revelations" marches along as a pulsing, smiley track with sparkling flourishes. This holds promise, but, unfortunately, the remainder of the album erodes from this point on. Remember that awesome [...]

Today sees the re-release of "Keep Your Head Up", Ben Howard's soaring ballad and the third single from his debut album "Every Kingdom", which is due for release this time next week. It's an album that we've had the pleasure of cherishing for some time now, the fact it's still as entrancing to listen to today as it was a month ago speaks volumes for its depth, texture and craftsmanship. It also seemed that now was an appropriate time to share our thoughts on it, although the prospect of conveying 4 weeks of appreciation in just a few paragraphs is a [...]

Devon Williams Euphoria Slumberland Records [2011] Fire Note Says: Devon Williams shows growth on his sophomore record Euphoria . Album Review: On Devon Williams sophomore record Euphoria he brings lush chamber pop arrangements together with his honest storytelling to create an album that is both engaging and memorable. The record is full of strings, flutes and keyboards that help sculpt the bouncy free flowing [...]
Devon Williams' britpop infused arrangements will lull you into wonderment and will inevitably elevate your musical street cred.

Devon Williams has come along way from his days as a teenager who played in the infamous punk band Osker. Since then, the L.A.-based musician has found his voice playing in various bands, including Lavender Diamond and his former band Fingers-cut Megamachine. However, it's the 29-year-old's lush psych-pop that has catapulted his name as a songwriter. His new follow-up to 2009's "Carefree" (also known as "Careerfree"), "Euphoria" presents him as the contemplative type, considering songs titled "Revelations," "Dreaming" and "Tower of Thought." Not that he is living in the clouds. ||| Download: "Your [...]

Devon Williams brought his Euphoria tour to the Comet Tavern last night. His new album (his second) just out on Slumberland is full of intricate and lushly textured songs. The guy obviously is a student of the 802s. Euphoria is an understated winner that I recommend heartily to fans of the Church, Modern English, East River Pipe and the Icicle Works . It's an easy record to like combining Williams' big sounding songs with his plaintive delivery that strips them of any pretentiousness. As I was standing in the somewhat redesigned Comet [...]
HANSON ( Aladdin Theater , 3017 SE Milwaukie) Remember those fresh-faced heartthrobs from Tulsa? You know, the ones with the song that went "MMMBop," and then 10 million screaming pre-teen girls were like "YESSSSSS! MMMBOP!" and the world was forever changed? Well, it appears the efforts of the brothers Hanson have not been thwarted due to premature success, and they'll be stopping in Portland on their Musical Ride Tour. As an attendee, you get to dictate which record they'll play and if you're anything like me, your pre-pubescent heart murmurs resurged at the very thought of [...]
