What a tough blow for Bulls' fans. Having your "team" wrapped around one player is devastating. Especially when that one player has an injury that will take him out for the rest of the year. It appears that the NY Knicks are on the verge of getting broomed out of the first round for the billionth time. Turns out the grass isn't so green on the other side, eh, Melo? Unfortunately my Nuggets are facing the same circumstances tonight. It's not all doom and gloom around here. They say that the series isn't over [...]

In celebration of his new release Loony Goons the Green Llama aka Mr. Dibia$e is teaming up with the likes of Flying Lotus , [...]

With a touch of West Coast G-funk and some superb space-y vibes, Devonwho has easily created one of my favorite songs of 2012 so far with "Strangebrew". The track stems from his forthcoming vinyl EP with the folks at All City Records , which is set to drop April 2. And while I could have seen this tune outfitted with some more straightforward visuals, it's instead been complemented by blurry found footage put together by designer Donovan Delaney. You can watch the video below.
Looking for something that's equally dreamy and pulsating? Well, then Bay Area producer Devonwho has got you covered with his remix of "Shakes" by Benito. The instrumental is all shimmering, bright synthesizers and layers upon layers of keys and percussion. At times, the thing throbs with dance floor sentiments and then it launches into near-jazz moments. In other words, it's hard to classify as anything other than, well, really fresh. Check it out below.

In our increasingly fragmented world, the splicing of once distant aesthetics has become commonplace. Freedom from geographic restricitons has given modern artists an audience and a chance to break free from the conventions of the 20st century - we now all live with its strange consequences. The Pop Massacre 2 compilation was released on the Friends of Friends imprint. It is full of the oddities centered around LA's fertile Hip Hop-inspired Beat scene. One of the most successfully spliced experiments on the recording is Devonwho's Nappy Roots remix. Washed-out, haze-driven California synths lather over the rap acapella. [...]

Words cant describe how chill this beat is, some amazing work by none other than Devonwho . I love how creative and smooth this track is, it just engulfs you and throws you into a totally different world with a chill ass vibe. Peaces (betasketch) by devonwho

If you've been seeing the likes of Brainfeeder 's Flying Lotus , Nosaj Thing , and TOKiMONSTA , you'll definitely be tempted to cheat when you check out Proximal Records ' latest compilation, Beat Stew Vol. 3, out August 1. Sahy Uhns ), in addition to other artists of a similar grain, like MATTHEWDAVID and [...]
The folks on the Proximal Records roster know how to make good-ass electronic-infused hip-hop. There is no doubt about that. But that's not all they're good at. Apparently, they're also pretty great at being generous, which they've displayed here with the free Beat Stew Vol. 3 compilation. It features 22 tracks from both cats on their roster and their close pals, which include Sahy Uhns , Matthewdavid , Beneker, Devonwho , BearClaw, and many others. Beat heads, this one's for you. As a dude with a clear penchant for left-field boom-bap, I was pretty damn excited/surprised to see this collaborative joint pop up in my Soundcloud dashboard. It wasn't surprising because of who was involved - Devonwho and Knxwledge have been connected for years - but it was just that producers don't really tend to drop joint tracks like this. But man, if anyone ever needed an example to explain when producers just collaborate, please make sure that "Filthy" is the evidence. It's not quite as dirty as the track title would lead you to believe, but it will certainly have [...]
