He were sent home severally in an attempt to stop him from the habitual habit. But it send a terrible message nationwide that hurt us more than the murder rate. Not to mention, babies under one account for more than a quarter of all humiliation, lagging only behind powdered money substitute. Die! Die! Die! "Sideways, Here We Come" (myspace)

"If the name didn't tip you off, Die! Die! Die! have little patience for pop concessions. Abrasive and bare-bones, the band makes a lot out of a little... ...the result is mind-numbingly satisfying." – Spin "Die! Die! Die!'s self-titled debut is a gem, jam-packed with nine tracks of urgent garage- and post-punk coupled with hip-shaking rhythms..." – Alternative Press "DDD smash head-on the decidedly British post-punk of Wire into the snotty anger of American hardcore act Black Flag , bringing forth an exciting punk fusion from the other land [...]

Why am I so, so tired? As I write this I have just awoken from a mini-slumber. Earlier tonight I tried watching The Polar Express with Nicci to officially usher in the Christmas season, but unfortunately I could not keep my eyes open, and missed the majority of the animated holiday magic. Not only that, I decided to venture up to the garage with Ilya and others for a brief session, completely shirking my mix tape duties, so this has all been thrown together with alarming speed. Hopefully it doesn't totally suck, you'll understand my somnolence, and give [...]
New Zealand's Die! Die! Die! are one of the most intense live bands I've seen in the past couple years. Since seeing them at Homebake last year I've been waiting for their new record to see if what I saw on stage translates into a great record. Well Promises, Promises is out now in New Zealand and will see an Australian/worldwide release in February and based on the first track I've heard, Die! Die! Die! have succeeded in capturing their live energy on record (something easier said than done). Death to the [...]
For kids who enjoy playing with fake blood, New Zealand 's punk trio Die! Die! Die! , they do it best at creating music to be short, fast and loud. With that, complexity of disorderly heavy rhythms and shrieking vocals which tingle from your neurons out to your toe hairs. Formed over just almost 4 years, the band have built solid foundation throughout New Zealand, Australia and the UK, playing an incredible amount of shows that has certainly done them well. Just having recently released their second full length album is Promises, Promises , [...]
In October of 2004, I received a message from a band on MySpace telling me they had noticed my musical interests, and thought I might like their band. That was during a time (age? era?) when you could receive a message from a band on MySpace and actually consider listening to their music, rather than unconsciously clicking the "mark as spam" button. They had one song available to stream, a demo track that harnessed the chamber rock complexity of Rachel's. My musical tastes at the time were such that I accepted their friendship request and decided I would see what [...]

The predictable, SXSW-fueled enthusiasm for this band'll probably write itself: expect "fierce", "brutal", "blasting".
New podcast video tomorrow. Is really funny for me. New Sunday Mix Tape now. Is mind-blowing and loud for you. RULES for uninitiated noobs : With 100MB of webspace, I give birth to a weekly Mix Tape to be deposited on your iPods or Zunes or Kingklangs or whatever the industry is currently pushing on you. Sometimes there will be themes that link all the songs together, other times I'll just throw songs at a wall (not literally) and see what sticks. This week I scoured my collection in an attempt to please every [...]

March is on the way and that can mean only one thing for the indie (and not so indie) music community: the industry clusterfuck that is South by Southwest . A billion bands, a million venues, random house parties, free booze, and zero sleep in an oasis in Texas. I've wanted to go so badly in past years...but I seem to be over that urge for some reason. Anyway, just like last year , a stack of Australian and New Zealand artists will be making their way to Austin to try and impress anyone who will listen. [...]

With a name like Die! Die! Die! , you would be forgiven for thinking you'd be hit with a heavy metal barrage when you pressed play. That is off course unless you saw the picture above and dismissed them as a bunch of harmless kids. Well as it turns out, they're somewhere in the middle. You definitely are confronted with a mass of noise when they start playing but it is never too much and always guided by a clever, underlying melody. And while they may just be young, these guys are serious about making music. Forming in just [...]

Die! Die! Die! " Die! Die! Die! is a three-piece band from New Zealand currently wandering the globe ." There are so many of these post-hardcore noise bands in Australia , but very few actually make the jump and relocate overseas for a music career. Sad, but the truth is this NZ [...]
