It's time to listen to a bunch of the tracks I have not posted recently. Here is the next NOT POSTED mix. These are just a few of the songs that would get there own individual posts on here on GIMME TINNITUS, if I only had the time. You can stream all the songs in this mix using the Yahoo media player at the bottom of the page OR if you are browsing with Chrome you can play (and scrobble ) the whole page using the ex.fm extension OR [...]

So I did my walking music post a while back and since the whether got so nice I thought we could use another one but I'm afraid I'll be holding off on that until I do a full walking music mixtape which will be up soon. While gathering songs for the mixtape I came across another incredible mixtape by hip hop producer Bulllion called Pet Sounds In the Key of Dee . The whole thing is essentially a mix of J Dilla's drum samples and some of the best Beach Boys tracks. The outcome is just as incredible [...]

SAVE BBC ASIAN NETWORK (AND 6 MUSIC TOO) Another delayed post featuring some of my musical favourites from the last few weeks. Hurriedly put up (in unfinished form) simply because its the last chance to fill in the BBC's online questionnaire registering your objection to the closure of The Asian Network & 6 Music. Visit here to register your objection with the BBC Trust (they make the decisions) The Asian Network recently picked up a couple of Sony Awards for its output. Nihal won Best Speech [...]

According to simple-minded caricature, San Antonio is a city best known for Tim Duncan, Pace Picante Sauce, and the Alamo (which according to my research gleaned from Pee Wee's Great Adventure has neither bikes nor a basement). Though Austin and Dallas typically absorb the glare of the Texan music spolight, Exponential Records , based in the land of Ginobili seeks to help define the city's soundtrack for those benighted masses unfamiliar with Bill Miller BBQ . Extant since 2002, the manifesto is straight-forward and consistently executed: "it is our belief that good music can [...]

For Corners is the first album from San Antonio civil rights attorney Diego Bernal. The album is a "love letter to the music, cultures, era and people that nurtured him." Think Latin soul meets Dilla . Listen to this... Downloadable: Armor All'd Out (mp3) Did I mention that you can get the whole album for free: For Corners (antipop zip) Myspace page is here . Exponential Records is here .

San Antonio beatsmith, Diego Bernal released his first full length LP on Exponential Records a couple months back, completely for free. Last time I checked, that is a recipe for awesome. This release, For Corners , is a blend of electronic and hip-hop beats with a Latin flare which seasons it all quite well. The whole album from start to finish is quite dusty and sounds like it's being played on vinyl. Some tracks that stand out of the bunch are "Dusty Sanchez" because the sampled guitar reminds me of an Acid Folk/Folktronica tune [...]

Two weeks ago, our fellow EOLA blogger, Hamza21, posted a free album released by a man named Diego Bernal. Bernal a lawyer out of San Antonio, recently released "For Corners", an album I fell in love with. That is why I contacted Diego and asked for an interview, and of course he agreed to one. Click Here to Download "For Corners" Click more to check out the interview! EOLA: How did you get involved with music production? I come from a very musical household. My mom always [...]

Diego Bernal Antipop There's a whole other territory nestled deep within the heart of Texas...a city within the city of San Antonio. You can try tracking it on your iPhone but chances are that there is no listing for "San Anto." The street corners are lined with palateras, taquerias, and every variety of mom and pop shop imaginable. This is the setting of Diego Bernal's story and the source material for his music. Although Bernal claims San Antonio as his home town, he spent much of his childhood traversing from home to Texas' Rio [...]

SXSW hype is getting bigger and bigger each year, and the music industry is going crazy these days, tweets, emails, schedules, free music. Most go straight to the bin, because we are continents away, but free music is always welcome, if it's coming from an identified good source like Exponential . Texas is a label sampler by Exponential records, sponsored by our friends at aurgasm and many others, which features over 17 tracks from Texan producers. A whole range of electronic music can be found here from IDM to hiphop, dubstep. [...]

DOWNLOAD : DIEGO BERNAL x FOR CORNERS (.zip) via Anti-pop records : For Corners is the first full length album from Diego Bernal, a civil rights attorney and beatsmith, located in San Antonio, TX. For Corners is Diego Bernal's love letter to the music, cultures, era and people that nurtured him. The music is dusty and layered with Latin soul, from the triumphant blasts of horns to the laid back groove of lowrider melodies. It is a call to return to the simplicity and integrity [...]

Just as Madlib tastefully finger-flipped through the Blue Note crates, San Antonio-based civil rights attorney Diego Bernal introduces For Corners , a smart collection of Latin (and Dilla) influenced instrumentals. "Bring It On Home" is a perfect ride-out tune for any Sergio Leone Italo-Western or just when Robbie makes a T. Bell run. Diego Bernal - Bring It On Home [...]
