It's June, so it must mean it's time for the obligatory Indietracks compilation album. Sadly this year it won't be released on CD in an attempt to reduce costs, meaning you'll have to burn your own discs for the long drive up. On the other hand, as it's a download only, you can pay whatever you like for it with all proceeds going to the lovely Midland Railway Centre . Every year they put up with us descending on them, so it's nice to be able to give them a little something back. [...]

Following his home made debut LP, Tendrils , on hip NY label Captured Tracks, Tooting's Joe Walsh, aka Dignan Porch, returns with his follow up EP, titled Deluded. Half recorded at home and half in the studio with Lovvers' Henry Wither manning the dials, Deluded continues in the same melody driven slacker fuzz vein as the earlier offering but this time includes a full band line up and a fuller sound. Dignan Porch - Deluded [...]
Remember guitars? Bands seem not super stoked on them these days. We were talking to a friend last night and he was asking us where all the young kids in inexpensive jeans who are kind of assholes but not really are. We didn't really have an answer. Some of them probably did that chillwave thing, [...]

Dignan Porch have announced they are set to release a new EP ,'Deluded', on 8th March via Captured Tracks. Dignan Porch Releasing New EP 'Deluded' is an article from: Addict Music
I'm beginning to suffer that autumn-winter blight: the weekday evening spent slumped to the sofa, your body the very enemy of activity, your mind unable to enable productivity. Signed to Captured Tracks , London fivepiece Dignan Porch 's music relates to this feeling - there's a hazy, slacker feel to their flicker pop. There's also enigma: these are brief and brittle lo-fi gusts, just piquing the interest, like 50 flighty words from the dream-girl after you've thrashed out three essay-length emails doused in longing.

As much as I enjoy geeking out by building best-of album lists, song lists are infinity more interesting. A song is a high-wire act: one slip, one faulty step and you've got a mess on your hands. Albums, almost by their very nature are more forgiving: great albums still have awful, awful songs. So a list of the best songs of a period tend to be more inclusive of different types of talent. Quite a few of these bands here don't have enough of it to sustain an album (yet?), but they have enough to absolutely crush one. So, culled [...]
If you are a fan of sweaty junk-pop, psychedelics and zero bullshit beer showers then make your merry way down to The Lexington tonight for The Intelligence, Dignan Porch and Rent Boys, each of whom specialise in at least one of these disciplines. Also, cool flyer.

There's a lot of great fuzzy lo-fi indie pop around at the moment, but one mark of quality among the masses is Captured Tracks - the Brooklyn label run by Mike 'Blank Dogs' Sniper. He's already snagged our Veronica Falls and Spectrals, and the latest noisy Brits to release something ...

London's Dignan Porch release their album debut album Tendrills today on Captured Tracks . It's a beauty. DP is Joe and younger brother Sam Walsh, Philippa Bloomfield, a school friend and Ben Goodwin, a local barman. You can file this under dreamy psychedelic lo-fi pop, which would be a good place to start. Weighing in at a little less than 27 minutes, the 13 song set touches on various musical points, reminding me a little of Big Star & Chris Bell's "I Am The Cosmos," a stack [...]

From Stereogum: Slightly tussled London quartet Dignan Porch have created an unassuming, but addictive rainy-day bedroom-pop gem with Tendrils , their full-length debut. The hushed, layered, hazy and downcast psychedelia might remind you of various early New Zealand pop crews of the Flying Nun sort (slowed to 1/4 speed). Or you could go back to the UK and talk about Sarah Records, though there's often something weirder woven into the compositions. Enjoy "Like It Was" below. [if you're so lucky to have access to Spotify, you can start up this playlist of Captured Tracks-highlights while reading the blogpost. Most of these releases are also available in digital shops like emusic and itunes.] I'm very much into the sound of the Captured Tracks label these days, and I've found several goodies among their releases. My personal highlights have so far been Wild Nothing 's shoegazy poptrack "Summer Holiday" and the equally fantastic b-side "Vultures like lovers", Beach Fossils [...]

All right, well the singles cup overflows this week as I've got so many great 7"s my hands are tired from flipping them over. A lot of solid contenders make their way into light this week and a few old favorites simply prove why they've gotten such well deserved praise around here in the past. Open those wallets and set the speed to 45. Sonny and the Sunsets – The Hypnotist b/w Stranded 7" Four new cuts from a voice we've [...]
