Perpetually relaxing yet never anesthetizing, Silver Wilkinson is the promise of Bibio fulfilled.
Hearing Slum Village over anything other than Dilla production is something I'm still not totally used too and I'm not sure that I ever will get used to it which makes it a daunting task for any producer to step up and fill in. So when I pressed play on this new "Cash Out" joint I did it with a critical ear and I am pleasantly surprised. With this future primitive boom bap production Mobb Deep's Havoc takes SV into a place I've never heard them before give a it listen below.
Fresh off one of the year's best hip-hop singles to date , Detroit's Black Milk is set to drop one of the very few essential Record Store Day releases from this year's selection , in the form of his vinyl-only Synth or Soul 123 . Listen to a track from each of the Small Wonder -referencing 12-inch's two distinct sides below. Synth or Soul is out on RSD (April [...]
The Child of Lov is proud to share "Fly" off of his forthcoming self-titled LP which will be released on May 6th via Double Six Records and on May 7th via Domino Records in North America. The Child of Lov sees songwriter/vocalist Cole Williams heading back to the future as both modern soul man and funk revivalist crafting thickly-layered psychedelic grooves with a hip-hop attitude. The album, which was recorded at Damon Albarn's studio 13 and features contributions from Damon Albarn , Thundercat, and DOOM, possesses a nostalgic reverence for early trailblazers like Little [...]
The Chicago Renaissance is here and King Thelonius is at the leading edge. "The Fire" is another nod towards the Dilla era with a forward progression and a back and forth flow that leaves us wanting more.

Newly based out of Washington, D.C., the prolific Canadian producer Bit Funk dropped a refresh of one of my favorite all time jams today - ATCQ's 1nce Again (produced by J Dilla). Bright pianos over a spring time groove, get it for the low price of zero dollars . Catch him in Vancouver at the Electric Owl March 30 along with yours truly. posted by @pat_lok
Today is the end of an era. It’s been a year since we posted the first episode of Bling47 Breaks. We never could have expected the response it has gotten. After many late night Sunday edits we bring it to a close for greater pastures. We now enter the era of all things DIRT. Visit us and subscribe to our Facebook HERE. We’ like to thank all those we begged borrowed and stole from to make this year possible. Much love. Jeedo http://bling47.com/site/jeedo- tomita-finale/

The other night, here in Milwaukee, a few of my homies; Dj Bizzon & Jank 1 held a J Dilla tribute event in order to raise money for the J Dilla foundation. Plus, just to out right celebrate the great music that J Dilla is known for… I was asked if I would like to participate in this event awhile ago. I really couldn't refuse considering the fact that I love everything Dilla… I thought it would be dope if I got the homie Mammyth to remix the Dilla beats I chose to rhyme over. [...]

Suite For Dilla by DJ J-Rell "After countless rotation of Miguel's "Timeless: Suite For Ma Dukes" project, I always visioned how it'd be if Dilla was able to perform his creations w/ a 60 piece orchestra [similar to a MTV Unplugged]. Once I get an idea I won't stop thinking about it til I bring it to fruition. So I share w/ ya'll something I've created a couple months ago & felt it was only right I allow Dilla fans & music lovers alike to embrace the result w/ me...Enjoy"
This playlist is for the party after the after party, or for when you're alone, or for when you wanna to stay up until dawn with a warm chill humming in the background, or for any time really, because it's just an ambient sky standing by with twinkling beats. It's designed to slowly help you unwind - a deep tissue massage of the mind. Enjoy. Image credit: Dan Deluca 1. Original post: The After [...]
The J Dilla news just doesn't end, and I'm loving it. Earlier today, it was revealed that a "new" album made up of the producer and rapper's work from the early 2000s, titled The Diary , is soon on its way. The posthumous release will consist of entirely vocal tracks featuring Jay Dee, compared to the albums made up of Dilla beats that we've mainly heard since his death. The first taste of The Diary is the single, " Anthem ". Starting off with a verse from Dilla himself, [...]
In honor of his life, today we get "Anthem" featuring Frank N Dank, produced by J Dilla. Mixed and mastered from the original 2-inch tape (early 20002s vibe) . 12-inch clear vinyl to be released on Pay Jay Productions, Spring 2013.
First the good news: the dysfunction surrounding Dilla's estate seems to have been resolved. His old attorneys are out the door and the Probate Court of California is overseeing the dispersal of royalties to his surviving heirs - his mother, Illa J, and his two children. They have also revived his never-realized Pay Jay imprint and are using it to provide us with a new stream of material from the vaults. I imagine and have been told that there are plenty of leftover donuts. Right now, Delicious Vinyl is peddling its own project of never-before released beats. If you figure [...]
