![[on repeat] ALLIGATOR LUNGS by Dirt Dress](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4895820_lg.jpg)
Dirt Dress are another great burgeoning L.A. band that released the LP, Donde La Vide No Vale Nada (aka D.L.V.N.V.N), in late 2012 from Recess Records on vinyl ( buy ) and Burger Records on cassette ( buy ) to follow a few released from Papermade Records . The three-piece showcase a number of different influences on the most recent LP ranging from surf jangle and western twang to straight up, solid Brit style indie guitar rock behind their high energy retro-garage based sound. There are a slew of standout tracks on [...]

Harvard & Stone will be serving up a super-sized menu this January. It's fitting for a month with five Tuesdays; each one carefully curated to feature some of the best local bands in the lo-fi, garage, surf and punk oeuvres. The headliner for each night will be newbies, Cotillon , who have very recently released their first EP, Votive Flower. A potpourri, if you will, of delicate pop melodies straight from the heart, poured out over gritty guitar riffs, and an almost early Beatles-esque frenzy. The heartbroken longings of frontman, Jordan Corso, are tinged with the kind of [...]

The crowd squeezed in to hear the trademark “Beach Goth” sound produced by the SoCal band. Crowd surfers and a bra could be seen sailing through the air during the set. With a driving, grooving beat, Dirt Dress got the crowd to move. The more adventurous hoisting themselves onto the crowd to be carried along to the music. [...]

These mixes were posted in January and February 2010, the winter of our discontent. Seriously, the blog was on life support during this time. We're through that storm now. 2010 was such a great year for music, and these early mixes show why. Many of the tracks were available in late 2009, but appeared on 2010 releases. Tracks are from late October through late November 2009 Gapless mix ripped at 256k VBR. Download all tracks in one zip file [...]
