Dirty Projectors return this week with a new 123 featuring three remixes of Swing Lo Magellan standout "The Socialites". Contributors include Hot Chip's Joe Goddard, FaltyDL, and rising UK pop duo AlunaGeorge , whose extra sensual reworking is heavy on vocal distortions and laser beams. Take a listen below. Here's the original version:

The National have announced a mammoth series of live dates taking them until the end of the year. The Brooklyn band, who release new album Trouble Will Find Me on 20 May, have revealed they'll tour with the likes of Youth Lagoon and Dirty Projectors (sadly not together) during June. This follows a date with People Get Ready in May. The group will also share dates with Daughter during August, Frightened Rabbit throughout September, as well as a [...]

If you are looking for one track that makes every day feel like summer, you must check out this Dirty Projectors gem "The Socialites" in a great and groovy Joe Goddard remix. Let the sunshine in, in an alt way.

Yesterday, Australian radio station, Triple J, invited Tame Impala into the studio to perform for their "Live A Version" cover series . This is the same series in which Sharon Van Etten covered Nick Cave , MS MR covered LCD Soundsystem , Dirty Projectors covered Usher , and so on. Tame Impala selected Outkast's the R&B jam "Prototype" from 20032s Speakerboxxx/The Love Below and stick close to the original, which is not an easy task when taking on the super groovy Andre 3000. It's [...]

Last week Phoenix released their 5th studio album Bankrupt! . What do you think of it? I haven’t had the chance to listen to it but I heard it’s pretty good. Anyway, here’s 2 free + awesome remixes by RAC & Dirty Projectors. Entertainment (Dirty Projectors remix) // download Trying To Be Cool (RAC mix) // download

DIRTY PROJECTORS aren’t the first name that come to mind when you think of remixes but their new take on Phoenix ’s ‘Entertainment’ brings a chilled, fresh mood to the electro-rock original. The remix kicks off with warped vocals, stunted percussion and handclaps to keep it all together. The track follows a slower tempo, certainly less chipper than the original, which releases the inner sadness of the song: “I’d rather be alone.” The vocals of Phoenix front man Thomas Mars remain the centrepiece and [...]
After experimenting with three formats for the Monthly Mix - MP3 zip, Spotify playlist, Soundcloud set, etc. - in March we finally came upon a solution that pleased everyone: all of them. And so, for you, here is the month's music, whittled down to its very best, via each of the aforementioned mediums, limited only by its availability on said mediums. This means a 13-track zip, a 12-track Spotify playlist, and a whopping 54-track Soundcloud stream. And somehow, falling through all the cracks and not represented on any is one of the month's finest: The National's straight-to-Youtube " [...]
When I saw the lineup for the brand new Bottle Rock Napa Valley festival, my jaw dropped. The Black Keys, Kings of Leon, The Shins, Flaming Lips, Alabama Shakes, Andrew Bird, Edward Sharpe, Dirty Projectors, Iron and Wine, Mavis Staples, Sharon Van Etten, Best Coast... the list went on and on . Plus, the festival is in the heart of Bay Area wine country, just an hour driving distance from San Francisco. I had to go. Well, the festival is happening in a mere week, and I'll be there. Find me happily sipping wine from a local [...]

Snoop Lion recently released Reincarnated , the first album under his new animal moniker, solidifying that, yes indeed, the name is here to stay . "No Regrets" is one of the LP's bonus cuts and features T.I. and The Dirty Projectors ' own Amber Coffman . Produced by Major Lazer and Ariel Rechstaid, the jam's got a slow and simmering bounce. Listen to it below.

The National debuted two new songs on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon that you can watch below. The band releases its new album, Trouble Will Find Me , on May 21st. The band plays The Mann Center with Dirty Projectors on Friday, June 7th. Go here for tickets. Below, watch "I Need My Girl," and "Sea Of Love."

Laura Marling has teamed up with directors Fred & Nick on a 20-minute long short film When Brave Bird Saved that features the four opening songs of her forthcoming LP Once I Was An Eagle . According to the directors the film is "directly inspired, informed, and narrated" by those first four songs. It's a beautiful work -- the music, the cinematography, the spirit of Laura and her music are all worth taking those twenty minutes to sink into something transcendent. [ CoS ] [...]

While there has been countless remixes for the excellent Phoenix single “Entertainment”, the one to catch our attention is this brand new one from Dirty Projectors . Taking the original into a quirky, hand clap-filled escape, this is an overwhelming piece of glitchy masterclass. Bankrupt! is out now.

Phoenix 's "Entertainment" gets the remix treatment once again. After getting drastically reworked by Grizzly Bear , fellow New Yorkers Dirty Projectors step up to the plate. The band chose to give the single a glitchy rehashing, highlighting the vocals amidst trippy instrumentation. Add in handclaps and you've got a solid remix. Stream it below.
"Entertainment" is shaping up to be Phoenix's biggest single yet - it's getting a ton of radio airplay and remixes from across the board, including this one from Dirty Projectors' Dave Longstreth. It's a fantastic new take on the song: Longstreth functionally turns it into a Dirty Projectors track (we just wish Amber Coffman and Haley Dekle had provided some vocals) with driving, sexy percussion and bass tones and shifted, edited vocals and synth sounds, but with Thomas Mars ' stunning vocal line intact. Check it out. [...]
