THE LIST!!!!!! 1. Crookers Remix of Kid Cudi - Day N' Night The Crookers have killed it this year. This song characterizes the experience of going out over the past four months; mostly because I would get excited before the DJ even dropped it. Just hearing a hint that it was coming on would make me go crazy. There were many moments where this track defined an evening for me. Hearing Crookers' drop it themselves at Circa was a big one; however, the most memorable drop [...]

Discotech are possibly the best remixers floating around the web these days. They have been killing it track after track, and if you didn't know now you know. The above video is possibly the coolest remix I've heard this year. Maybe not the best, but the Bill O'Reilly's freak out sample is epic, making for an extremely intense song. I have yet to hear something by these artists that i do not like. One of Crooklyn Clan's best sellers, their mixes have become a necessity for todays biggest and smallest DJs. I only look foward to hearing more from this [...]

Now that the REAL Thanksgiving has come and gone, we can all sit back and contemplate the next holiday. Good ole X-mas. The celebration of X. Here's some audio treats to soothe your stuffing stuffed mind while evaluating what X really means to you. mp3: Chromeo - Fancy Footwork (Crookers Remix) mp3: Chromeo - 100% (Treasure Fingers' B-Live Pemberton Mix) mp3: Clinic - Tomorrow (DFA Remix) mp3: Michael Jackson - Thriller (DiscoTech Remix) Sorry for the excess Chromeo [...]

This Saturday, I woke up with a mean hangover, got the fuck up, and did a bit of charity. Let me start by saying that I usually hate charity...i hate it. Not because I dislike helping people in need or anything like that. Its just that sometimes I find myself committing to these things, then several months go by, I completely forget, and all of a sudden, a day of charity madness ensues. It just creeps up out of nowhere, and expects more of you than you think, especially after an epic night of boozing. Unlike what [...]
For starters, an apology to any non-label artist who has shot me a press release this month with no feedback. I'm hugely backed up on tracks right now; my Inbox choked at least 3 pages deep with jams both sick and sickening. But real life gets in the way sometimes, and this site is free. So there. When Joe Scarborough called Bill O'Reilly out as a GOP suck up earlier this year, I was reminded of Catherine O'Hara's line from Home Alone : "If Uncle Frank says no, then it must be really bad." As a journalist, [...]

Today I want to drop 3 remixes of the greatest artist in popular music history. It's a shame pop culture destroyed him, but Michael will forever be THE influence. No one can deny that he changed the game, he took everything to the next level. Here are three remixes that know how important he was, and that his voice was always be the voice of pop music. These remixers prove that it won't be quieted in a world where what's old is new. Recycling isn't just an environmental movement, its a musical movement, and it's keeping our bodies moving. [...]

Let me start off by saying DiscoTech is amazing. I definitely listened to this track one too many times. Sticking a bit with the hip hop theme since yesterday, first two tracks of are from the Kickdrums mixtape . Starting off with the DiscoTech remix of Kanye West . I found it mixed a little bit of the original track properly with a great touch of electro. Second is a track from Bone produced by Kickdrums . These two tracks plus the three I posted yesterday are [...]

2008 has been a great year for hip-hop music, and T.I. is the third and fourth quarter's Lil Wayne . His mega-massive sung-only hit, "Whatever You Like" is atop the single's charts in the US and his other #1 single, "Live Your Life" is sitting at #2. That's something Lil Wayne has yet to accomplish. Lil Wayne didn't have another song on Tha Carter III that could possibly match "Lollipop"'s marketability. T.I., however, has at least another song that can definitely hit the number one spot - his collabortive effort with [...]

Well, I just discovered a boat load of electro tracks that I love so I thought I'd share the wealth. No real rhyme or reason to them, you'll probably recognize most of the artists from other posts. It still amazes me sometimes how much music is out there on blogs and how much of it I haven't heard. There's definitely a core group of blogs that release songs that trickle down to other blogs. As a result, many have the same songs at the same time making it kind of monotonous. It definitely makes you wonder how free blogs are [...]

Discotech have been killing the remix game, and just before Halloween they were kind enough to drop this remix of Thriller our way. Enjoy and rock it tomorrow. Track is dope and you know everybody wants to hear it. Thriller [DiscoTech Remix] - Michael Jackson zippy | mp3 Bookmark It [...]

Pic - Cobrasnake Isn't it kind of funny how MJ has been coined with Halloween. I mean yes, we all saw Thriller and pee'd just a tiny but in our pants from the ZOMBIEZZZ but how come THAT track is the one of choice for remixes, mashers and bootleggers come October 31st and not other various Living Dead/Death/Vampies/Elf songs? Made a comment the other day of the influx that would come through and this year was actually surprisingly good. Gigamesh of DiscoTech sent this bad boy [...]
Sucker for a Steely Dan sample though I may be, when Kanye's Graduation dropped this time last year, I fell hard for "Homecoming", a late album jam whose piano stabs lovingly call to mind The Stranger -era Billy Joel. Coming off the heels of Jay-Z's Kingdom Come , guest star Chris Martin was giving Beyonce a run for her money as Roc-A-Fella hip hop accessory of the year, but in revisiting the track a month or so ago, I felt a little underwhelmed by how... thin the whole thing felt. Recently, [...]

When Kanye's latest album dropped I may or may not have freaked out a lil' bit - though I could never stand Chris Martin's work, "Homecoming" was spec-freaking-tacular. Seriously. Anywho, I got a DiscoTech (who I'm still trying to get familiar with) remix of the cut in my mailbox the other day and simply couldn't wait to throw it up. It comes from a Plain Pat and Benzi Yeezy project that will hopefully drop before that blasted PRGz tape which, at this point, looks like it'll never see [...]

jwillys First track is the Telemitry remix of Michael Jackson . Great mix, though the looping of MJ's voice in Smooth Criminal sounds slightly strange. Don't get me wrong though, it totally works for the track. Second track is another remix from Soulwax , I guess I've scattered a couple of their remixes over the last few days. Their super old remix of Gossip is amazing, definitely kept the main elements of the original track including the bass beat I like so much. [...]

Well since I'm posting one of their tracks and I ashamedly don't know anything about the Bassbin Twins I'm going to do my research and come back to do a bit of a biog.........<researching>.... ....... Yes! I am ready! Turns out I've been missing out big time as these experimental US fellas are actually one guy. Pete Bassbin (real name?). I checked out Beatport and they/he have a ton of tunes to listen to and some of them are really dark, grinding and broody. Some are happier and they all share (bar one) a fucking [...]

Destroy Disco are already blogmeisters and so I'm kinda jumpin' jumpin' (think Destinys Child) on a bandwagon here. Who cares they are shit hot!! Yes! You can research these Australian fellas quite easily using HypeMachine and so my information on this is nothing is as extensive as on that wickedly bitchin' site! Test these tracks and tell me what you think! BOOOM! Destroy Disco - Hello Destroy Disco - Jackin' the Box The Klaxons - Atlantis to Interzone (Destroy Disco Remix) [...]
