New EP collects individual guest vocalist recordings that were used to create their cover of Entombed's "Wolverine Blues." The post Go Pound for Pound with Converge appeared first on MetalSucks .

"Penis of unyielding death" is it's official name. Well I was originally going to post a bunch of Misfits reviews in the spirit of Halloween, but for those who don't know, us East Coasters (I'm in Philly) are apparently about to get battered by a storm. The lovely lady known as Hurricane Sandy is supposed to do a number on us, and has been dubbed Frankenstorm by newscasters. Personally, I'm used to the over-hyped, sensational, storm bullshit... but the weather pros have stated and I quote "We're not over-hyping this storm". Right. I'm more [...]
* Banner by Cysquatch Hello heavy metallists everywhere! Say, have u dudes seen that movie The Expendables 2? It's a silly new actioner in which gross Sylvester Stallone and a team of lulzy old shoot-em-up stars go blast featureless non-whites with soupcan-sized bullets. It is a hoot! Grab a bucket of popcorn, a depth-charge-sized soda, and [...]
Well, it's actually out now! At least, digitally. You can purchase a legal download right here for a whopping three dollars. That's gotta be one of the wisest, thriftiest purchases you'll make all week, right? In case you've forgotten, the split contains two songs by each band: Converge’s contribute “No Light Escapes,” the new song the band has [...]
Mutilation Rites Empyrean Prosthetic 22 May 2012 by Tom Dare Brief Guide On How To Make Black Metal In 2012: 1) Pick your basic influence. This should be a Scandinavian band active in the early 1990s or Bathory. 2) Decide whether to A) simply rip off said band or B) do something new. If A), you're done. If B), move on to number 3. [...]
How's this for a fuckin' sweet, sweet split? According to the Deathwish Inc. official website, the legendary bands will contribute two tracks each to the release, which will come out as both a 73 and a digital EP: Converge's side will consist of "No Light Escapes," the new song the band has been playing live [...]

Lock Up - the supergroup (for lack of a better term) featuring Tomas Lindberg of At the Gates/Disfear fame, Napalm Death's Shane Embury, super-famous-drummer-dude Nicolas Barker, and Pentagram's Anton Reisenegger - have never tour the U.S. before... but that's gonna change in February, when the band will cross the ocean to do a headlining run [...]
In 2001, screamer Johan Lindstrand departed Swedish death-thrashers The Crown, and the band went on with then-former At The Gates screamer Tomas Lindberg. But after one awesome album, The Crown reverted to its line-up with Lindstrand for Possessed 13, one of metal's twenty best albums. Then, after a re-make of that Lindberg album, The Crown folded [...]
This record is superb from front to back. I've been listening to it almost nonstop for weeks now, and I've yet to hit a lull in my enjoyment or fixate on any idiosyncrasies within the album's framework. But above and beyond any listening pleasure I get from it (and I do get plenty), David Comes to Life brings very specific issues to the forefront for me. They're things we discuss regularly on Buzzgrinder, ranging from the heavy segmentation of the recording industry into genre-specific ghettos to the evolution (or lack thereof) in hardcore music at large. Every single Wednesday without fail, your hosts post a suitably stale video clip that we think needs to be revisited. Click here for more Crusty Clips. Got a clip you think we should post? Send it to crustcake@gmail.com.by Van Damned (TX)Today's Crusty Clip comes in honor of Henke Frykman, long-time bassist for Swedish D-beat bruisers Disfear, who succumbed to cancer on March 25. Rest in peace,
Disfear bass player and long time member Henrik Frykman has passed away after a long battle with cancer. The band, Bjrn Pettersson, Marcus Andersson, Ulf Cederlund and Tomas Lindberg, has issued the following statement: "It is with heavy hearts we inform you that on Friday the 25th of March Henrik Frykman passed away in his home after a long battle with cancer. Henrik will be greatly missed by family and friends."
Very sad news from the Disfear camp this morning. As you might have known, bassist Henrik Frykman was battling cancer for a long time. Taking a few days to sort personal matters, the band had finally released an official statement today: “It is with heavy hearts we inform you that on Friday the 25th of ...

I hate writing these so much. Disfear bassist Henrik Frykman has lost his battle with a cancer. A statement from the band reads as follows: "It is with heavy hearts we inform you that on Friday the 25th of March Henrik Frykman passed away in his home after a long battle with cancer. Yep, we talked a lot of smack on Joey Belladonna this week, much to the chagrin of, well, an awful lot of you. I think we're done for a little while... but I can't make any promises. Our job at MetalSucks is to amuse ourselves first and foremost, and, well, we thought it was pretty [...]
We’re just a couple of weeks away from Maryland Deathfest 2010, which will take place from May 28-30 in (duh) Baltimore, Maryland. This year’s edition of the annual fest promises to be the best one yet, with a line-up that includes Gorguts, Autopsy, Obituary, Entombed, Sodom, Repulsion, D.R.I., and a ton of other kick-ass bands. In [...]
Man, Disfear are the master's of the d-beat scene, even... (dare I say it?) better than d-beat pioneers and whom the genre is named after, Discharge. I loved Disfear's last release "Live The Storm", but never had a chance to check out any of their earlier releases.Disfear brought the Swedish d-beat crust to a whole new level on Misanthropic Generation. While the band is from Sweden, all
