Hello there, some more random ramblings for you today. Check out yesterday's post from some more tracks, the ones for today are available below: Electrojuice - Pof Pof Would you believe it if I told you that these guys are just 14 and 15 years old? I didn't believe it at first either. When I'm listening to their tracks I can't help thinking about the amound of crazy praise these guys will receive in the very near future. And damn, they deserve it! Natalie Portman's Shaved Head - Iceage [...]

Everybody But Me ( diskJokke Remix) - Lykke Li Young Novels (2008) Lykke Li has been heating up the music blogsphere for a few months, since RCRD LBL released a couple of her choice tracks for our sampling pleasure. Today her debut full length album is available in both physical and digital music stores. I hope this is the beginning of a long career for the young [...]

Back from Belgium. Good times etc. First up is a remix that stood out a mile when I saw it tracklisted on the latest Trax magazine compilation over in Brussels. Invisible Conga People remixing Simian Mobile Disco to create an ethereal jam. Simian Mobile Disco - I Got This Down (Invisible Conga People Remix) ( alt link ) The new diskJokke track off Full Pupp's Greatest Hits compilation is pretty darned [...]

En ce samedi où j'ai beaucoup de difficulté à écrire plus que 2 lignes, j'ai décidé d'opter pour la solution facile: 2 petits remix que j'affectionne beaucoup ces derniers temps. Metronomy – Heartbeaker (DiskJokke remix) ( mp3 ) Black Kids - I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boy Friend How To Dance With You (The Twelves Remix) ( mp3 )
I think this track is somewhere between 'authentic disco', 'house', and 'bloghouse.' While I have never actively liked Metronomy, I think I might start if their next album is decent. They are always solid remixers, so hopefully I don't get too weirded out by their upcoming material/music videos. Whenever I hear Metronomy, I think they have coloured skin. Norwegian nudisco producer and all around friendly guy Joachim Dyrdahl AKA Diskjokke remixes the newest single "Heartbreaker" (will be released September 1st) from UK popdance outfit Metronomy . While the original sounds a little something like this: "From its hallmark opening bassline, to the synth-heavy powerchords of the whistle-along chorus, there's no straying from the fact that Metronomy's future single 'Heartbreaker' is catchy as hell. It's an electronic ode to male heartbreak that'll both cut you to the quick and have you dancing all the way to the therapist's chair." Diskjokke instead stretches it out, slows it [...]

It's a stupid name, sure, but Prins Thomas' forthcoming Full Pupp compilation, The Greatest Tits Vol. 1 , is pretty spectacular. The Norwegian space-disco innovator put together a twenty-five track two-disc release that is mesmerizing in its ability to keep you listening even though every song is ultra-slow, relaxed, and chilled out. The Italo-disco/space-disco/whatev er-disco resurgence we've seen over the past couple of years is alluring and baffling for that very reason: listening to any good cut by the likes of DC Recordings folks or Lindström or Prins Thomas or Glass Candy or whomever [...]

diskJokke - Flott Flyt For all of you disco house lovers, here's a beautiful track from Norwegian producer, Joachim Dyrdahl a.k.a. diskJokke's latest release, the Flott Flyt 12". Such a great tune it almost begs the question " Lindstrøm who"? Alright, I kid. Despite both producers being Oslo natives with similar influences, facial hair and some weird Hawaiian/Tropical genre inside joke (please refer to their respective Myspace sites), there's no sense of competition between the two, only collaboration -- diskJokke previously remixed Lindstrøm's "Breakfast in Heaven" single, afterall. [...]
The Future Sound of Oslo? A few years ago that idea may have required some creative editorial, but these days it's impossible to deny the talent that keeps coming out of Norway. Smalltown Supersound , the label responsible for stateside releases from Jaga Jazzist, Bjørn Torske, Kim Hiorthøy and Lindstrøm, may also be guilty of accelerating global warming by releasing another smoking hot LP from Joachim Dyrdhal, aka DiskJokke . The classically-trained violinist is sonically and geographically connected with his labelmates, constructing a pastiche of dancefloor-friendly sounds rarely limited to a single, isolated genre. Deeply compositional [...]

Diskjokke - Interpolation (Smalltown Supersound 2008) Diskjokke - Staying In / Smalltown Supersound This past weekend was disconcerting. I woke up on Friday morning thinking it was Saturday for some reason. I woke up on Sunday morning and realized that I had lost an hour of sleep and all of my clocks had jumped ahead an hour without reminding me why. I woke up on Saturday morning thinking it was last week all set to see The Black Lips play a live in-store performance for Reckless Records [...]
Don't mind the photo because Jens Lekman and Robyn can't be together? Or can they be? Robyn look more manlike. Anyway, favorite songs of the week: 1. Jens Lekman: "I'm Leaving You Because I Don't Love You (Spoolwork Remix)" 2. Neon Neon [ft. Cate Le Bon] - I Lust U 3. Robyn With Kleerup - With... [[ This is a content summary only.
