one of our idols "dj mehdi" - part of ed banger's crew - has passed away. mix mag says that he has died following a fatal accident in which he fell from a roof at his home in france ( source ). we are very sad and our thoughts are with him, his close friends and his family. mehdi - you will stay in our heart and in our record case!

We are saddened to hear the news of DJ Mehdi 's passing. He always had one of the biggest smiles and such a positive presence as he danced in the DJ booth. Our condolences go out to his friends, family and the whole Ed Banger Records crew.

Mehdi Faveris-Essadi, better known to the world as DJ Mehdi of the French collective Ed Banger, passed away today. Mehdi has been a member of Ed Banger pretty much since the beginning, turning out bombastic electro that certainly established the house style. French hip-hop/electro-house DJ/producer DJ Mehdi (real name: Mehdi Favéris-Essadi) who is known for his work with Daft Punk and Chromeo and remixes for Miike Snow, Zombie Nation, Sam Sparro and Erol Alkan & Boys Noize has died. The 34-year-old mixer reportedly died at his home in Paris after falling off a roof while with friends.

Some very sad news is breaking across Europe. And it's now confirmed, 34 year old DJ Mehdi passes away last night from a house accident. It seems he suffered fatal injuries after a fall from a room. First a Hip Hop DJ member of 113, DJ Mehdi then moved from Hip Hop and released some Electro on Pedro Winter records label, ED Banger in 2006. I'm an early fan, and the guy was a very good DJ. Following reports circulated on Twitter earlier today by his labelmates, it has now been confirmed that French electro artist DJ Mehdi has been killed in a tragic accident at his home in Paris. Mehdi had four albums to his name, the most notable possibly being Lucky Boy , and also collaborated with several well-known figures in the electro and hip-hop genres, including Chromeo and Justice. Most recently, he teamed-up with Riton to work on a joint project called Carte Blanche.

Mehdi has been a part of the French hip-hop and electro scenes since the late '90s, but he really rose to prominence after linking with Ed Banger Records.
