Audiversity's weekly column on music we stumble across during our sonic adventures. No random numbers, just straight audio goodness. MA: Been cruising Muxtape this week to see what some of my friends have posted on their respective pages. One in particular recently posted a mix that features The Zombies and their take on George Gershwin's 1935 hit, "Summertime." Literally, this song (from the Charleston, SC-set opera Porgy and Bess ) has [...]
Possibly the best mixtape ever made - here's DJ/Rupture from back in 2001 with his 'Gold Teeth Thief' mix. Utterly essential, this seminal mix rocks from hip hop to jungle to gabba to ragga to god only knows what, always holding down the party. VIBE Magazine praised it as a "stunning, globe-trotting, three-turntable mix" that "captures [...]

One of the most consistent DJs going and one of my favourites DJ / Rupture (the backslash implies serious biznizz) has an hour-long radio show on WFMU in New York and it's ALWAYS full of great music - new and old. You can see his playlists here . I want to draw your attention to a special three hour slot he did on August 29th. The show takes in a classic from Seefeel, MIA, some great sitar and tabla music, dubstep, an Ecuadorian accordionist, African Pop, Afro-Columbian music and more. It's excellent and [...]

A lot of folks were surprised or did not know we had a lot to do with Other Music. The shop hosted numerous in-store performances from the Clientele, Aesop Rock, Arab [...]

Rupture uses the steel drums of the original and builds a brand new tune out of it hence renaming the tune "Adrenaline". MP3 Architecture in Helsinki-Adrenalin DJ Rupture Ital Hymn feat Dr.Lee G [...]
