I just landed a last minute show in Baltimore, MD this Wednesday May 16th . I'm playing at Cyclops (30 West North Ave.) with Baltimore band American Folklore and NYC singer/songwriter Anthony DaCosta. We've been touring for little over a month now and gone from sunny Florida to cold North Carolina. I've overcome my fear of driving the RV and since Jonas fixed the cruise control I don't mind driving at all. But there's still one thing that scares me. What if the RV falls over. After an almost two year abstinence we welcome Antonio Bruno back on dreiton.net again. The new album „Clip" is his fifth release on our label, and we do think it's one of his greatest works. He's merging a warm bass with piano tones and plain sounds to a wonderful collage sometimes releasing tiny melody fragments. None of the tracks uses any beats – which ist quite particular. Daz-I-Kue is a rapper whose profile says "Atlanta via London" but vocally, you can't really tell. As a rapper his voice reminds me a bit of Posdnous and his song "Keep Clowning" wouldn't sound out of place on De La Soul's The Grind Date as it has a sound similar to some of Dave West's beats on that album. Some of the other songs on his page seem to mix hip-hop with house music, which of course could lead me to throwing in a Jungle Brothers reference but NO. I'll stop here. [...]
