Frequent collaborator with Benjamin Damage , Doc Daneeka has announced the forthcoming release of a new EP for the Roska Kicks & Snares imprint. The new release, entitled 'Murdah Strings' celebrates the golden age of UK funky (yes, there was one) whilst looking forward to the convergence of deep house, techno, IDM and a whole bunch of other things. The Welsh-born producer has been turning heads for a while, often with Damage by his side, whether it's their 'They!Live' album, their stunning mixes for Boiler Room and [...]
We at HiFi Cartel are excited to announce our upcoming event at Brooklyn's Glasslands, featuring the likes of some proper badmen...and a badgyal. Stopping off in NYC as part of their Surefire Sound Spring Tour, we bring you the likes of Addison Groove (LIVE) and Doc Daneeka on April 28th. Opening up the night will be bass sweetheart and Miami-based producer/DJ Jubilee. Check out more info on the artists at the jump. ADDISON GROOVE - Tony Williams is having a very busy year [...]
A few days ago, Drake told NME, "For me, the David Guetta stuff just doesn't work. I don't really wanna go there." We were glad to hear it. Even more exciting, though, are his nods to the undercurrent of more interesting electronic music. He's worked with Jamie xx and SBTRKT, and after explaining why Guetta isn't his first pick, he said the he'd rather work with exciting producers to "turn the club upside down." While he's name dropped a few of the biggest talents in the loosely defined scene, there's a whole host of other artists and sounds out [...]

Full event details on Facebook , and event flyer below. The above is a photo of the interior of St. Stephens-in-the-fields Church, which has what looks like 302 ceilings, and enough room for several hundred ravers. Behind this incredible concept is Mansion, a noteworthy Toronto production team that has been lauded for their highly-curated Happy Endings nights, held in the top floor of a dim sum restaurant which they have outfitted with a powerful soundsystem. There's something about the aesthetic, shape, and character of a room that informs how a performer [...]

Kutmah Presents: Worldwide Family Volume 2 Brownswood Recordings: 2012 UK native Kutmah has dug into the Brownswood crates to compile the eclectic and varied: Worldwide Family Volume 2 . The 21-track compilation album is a happy balance of known and unknown artists, as compilations or mixes of this type often end up being collections of tracks you know (and own) from equally familiar artists. But, I have to say that this tracklist surprised me with plenty of new names. I was pleased to make the musical acquaintance of Seven Davis Jr. with the [...]

Artwork by Juul Kraijer [Ten Thousand Yen] Whether in smoky chanteuse mode or swathed in and masked by effects, Abigail Wyles provided the rawest moments of Doc Daneeka and Benjamin Damage's recent album, They!Live . Tobyjug marks the birth of a separate Daneeka/Wyles project, an electronic soul ballad that looks to be ushering the singer further towards the type of producer/performer collaborations that brought Jessie Ware and [...]
Dj Charts: Deepchild - Beatport New & Old Chart. genre: Techno, Deep House, Tech House, Minimal.
★★★★☆ "Deep rave" is not a contradiction. Its peddlers, Welsh duo Benjamin O'Shea and Mial Watkins, mix up mournful lingers with stinging counter attacks of arena rumbling, cold-clocking tech-house. That arena sized component becomes Damage & Daneeka's oeuvre, even during moments of humbleness, working to a venue sealed air tight so every breath of air becomes precious to ravers finding themselves overworked, going hard to the point of exhaustion. "Deaf Siren" is techno knocking you around the head like Rowdy Roddy Piper, and "Creeper" rains down deeper body blows as the pair put up directness at [...]

Benjamin Damage & Doc Daneeka feat. Abigail Wyles : Halo - Video

Last year they brought us one of our favourite tunes in "Creeper", a dark brooding affair with plans also announced for an album. That day is nearly upon us as Doc Daneeka and Benjamin Damage get set to release THEY!LIVE on the ever quality 50Weapons label. As you might expect the album has its fair share of club bangers such as the afore mentioned "Creeper" but it's also full of some subtle and engaging electronica. There are also great vocals by Abigail Wyles. This [...]

Modeselektor today uploaded this track from Benjamin Damage & Doc Daneeka (who?) and, well, their endorsement is worth at least a listen. Turns out it's a sample of a forthcoming soft, melodic, almost boring electronica song that doesn't really match their musical fare. Not exactly my cup of downtempo tea, but what do you think? Benjamin Damage & Doc Daneeka "Halo" feat. Abigail Wyles (50WEAPONSCD05) Out Jan 27 by Modeselektor

L'homme transfigure aujourd'hui un titre de Skream, à l'origine prévu sur le maxi Where You Should Be [...]
