This year's Rock The Bells music festival marks its 10th anniversary with a jam-packed lineup, including "virtual performances" by two deceased artists, Ol' Dirty Bastard from the Wu Tang Clan and Eazy-E, who will be performing with the ongoing reunion of Bone Thugs N Harmony. The MC Supernatural actually freestyled the all-star line-up earlier this evening. In full, here's what the lineup looks like: Big K.R.I.T., Black Hippy (Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, and Schoolboy Q), Bodega Bamz Bone Thugs N Harmony, Brother Ali, Chase and Status, Common, Curren$y, Danny Brown, Dilated Peoples, Dizzy Wright, Dom Kennedy, E-40 and Too Short, [...]
A smaller Fresh Friday, but these are worth the mention and hold it on their own. Make sure to grab these tunes and enjoy. I will!
Dom Kennedy's minor-hit "My Type Of Party" is one of the more interesting "party" tracks of the past few years in that it's really not meant to be a party track in the truest sense. He's getting head on the sofa and ignoring the "niggas sniffing that coca", truly Dom's sort of party. Seeing the potential in Dom's original, New York by-way-of Chicago club maestro Brenmar took "My Type Of Party" up to 130 BPM and essentially turned it into a more conventional party anthem. This is probably not Dom's type of party anymore, but it certainly works for us! [...]
Dom Kennedy is Hip-Hop's version of a bear. All winter he lays low in sort of a hibernation-like absence. Then, as soon as the temperature begins to take a permanent [...] The post Dom Kennedy Announces New Album, 'Get Home Safely,' To Drop This Summer appeared first on The Smoking Section .
Casey Veggies - Life Changes Self-released: 2013 On Casey Veggies ' solid 2011 debut full-length Sleeping in Class , the young rapper from Los Angeles was still an identity in the works. The album positioned him as somewhat of a thoughtful goofball with a tiny bit of street cred and the occasional introspective epiphany. Not quite backpack rap but certainly not hood either. At just 17, Veggies landed somewhere between Big K.R.I.T. and a less nutty OFWKTA (whom he was once a member of).The first-person account of his young and small world on [...]
Young Inglewood native, Casey Veggies, has been on the hip-hop radar dating back to his features on the early Odd Future mixtapes. Although he has since parted ways with the OF clan, Veggies has certainly shown an ability to hold his own continuing to find cosigns among top-tier emcees. Life Changes , his latest mixtape, may be his breakout project with features and production from the likes of The Futuristiks, DJ Dahi, Dom Kennedy, 1500 or Nothin' and Harry Fraud. Through out the piece of work we see the 19 year-old spitter emerge with the confidence that [...]
Having been caught Sleeping in Class back in 2011, Los Angeles emcee Casey Veggies has decided to make some serious Life Changes on a brand new, 13-track free album. The project features Booth-approved, lead single "F**k Witchu," and guests spots from BJ The Chicago Kid, Phil Beaudreau and Dom Kennedy. Speaking about the new album, Veggies shared the following on his Tumblr: "It took me a long time to grow into this. I feel like this whole time I was searching for something and now I finally found it. Life really does change. Sometimes for the [...]
And just like that, another year is in the books. I think we're all happy the world didn't end on the 21st, if for no other reason than that this list gets to be presented to the public. AlbatRoss and I have worked on compiling the perfect wrap-up list for 2012 in hip-hop and we'll be breaking it down in 4 stages of 20. We had 2 guidelines we stuck to in compiling this list: 1) it had to be rap (meaning no R&B - Frank Ocean and Miguel had killer years but they won't be found on this list) [...]

Over the weekend, Scoremore brought Dom Kennedy to Dallas for a sold out show at Trees. Being the final date on the Yellow Album Tour , he surely saved the best for last.He started off the night with some of his biggest hits such as "Girls On Stage" and "My Type of Party" from this year's Yellow Album . The crowd followed Dom in voice as he coasted through his set. The highlight of the night came when he invited a female fan on stage to accompany him [...]
New heater from the Stones Throw crew. Strong Arm Steady and Oh No come together on the beat while Dom Kennedy spits some great verses. Dig it.

"Ain't into the floss, rather be a boss." There's definitely something to be said about staying quiet and letting your actions do the talking. Taking a page from that book, we have this Oh No remix of Strong Arm Steady's "No Sky Limit" featuring Dom Kennedy. The original record was produced by Statik Selektah and appeared on Stereotype, the collaborative LP between SAS and Statik. Oh No took seven of those joints, remixed them, and released them today via Stones Throw as Stereo Jr . Peep the single below, and the full EP right [...]
Here is something a little different from Oh No today, as he takes a different approach to his instrumentation on a remix for California's Strong Arm Steady. While the lyrical content from Strong Arm Steady and the featured Dom Kennedy is certainly something Oh No is used to, his bouncing synthesizers are a nice change of pace from the renown producer. This particular remix comes by way of an exciting little remix project Oh No has under way, which will feature him chopping up Strong Arm Steady's 2011 effort with Statik Selektah, Stereotype [...]

This is available for now exclusively at Stones Throw and via Stones Throw's digital subscription service - Stones Throw Digital Discography . Stereotype was originally recorded late last year with Statik Selektah on [...]
