Here to close out our Best of 2012 guest series is none other that Chicago playboy Kid Color . Coming off of a great year of having played both Lollapalooza and North Coast Music Festival, Kyle has switched gears to focus on production; both remixes and originals. His newest piece " Pacemaker " was received extremely well, with positive feedback from the likes of DFA Records, Juan Maclean, Jacques Renault, Tim Zawada among others, and will more than likely be in my Best of 2013 chart; yes, I already started a list. It’s officially Awards Season again and, rather predictably, everyone’s abuzz over the Academy Awards’ Best Original Song nominees — but what of the Golden Globes Best Original Song selections , we ask? No, really. Wait, come back! Though often thought of as Oscar’s little sister — and a somewhat reliable predictor of who will win Academy Award gold — the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s annual accolade has a style all its own, and nowhere is this style more evident than in its strange history of Best Original Song nominees. What follows is a [...]
Gabriel Rocha , also known as DJ PP , is one of the most elite producers and DJs of Uruguay. Named one of the most influential dj/producer of 2010 by Mark Knight , he was nominated as best producer in the Beatport Tech House Music Awards for his track Drunken Russian ; which is by far one of my favorite which I could not stop playing last year! Gabriel Rocha has [...]
In honor of our first New Year's Eve after the passing of Dick Clark, here we bring you a little music memorial. The NY Times has put together a nifty montage of photos and song snippets to pay tribute to some of the many music greats that are goin' up to the spirit in the sky . You can check it out below. It's tasteful, thoughtful, and way less awkward than the annual Grammy retrospective that's always underscored with live audience clapping really hard for whichever fallen one hit wonder and then not [...]

Fatboy Slim aka Norman Cook is giving away a delicious mash-up of the Late & the Legendary Queen, Donna Summer vs the reigning Pop Princess Adele on his Soundcloud for free. “I Feel Love Rollin’ In The Deep” was made for his DJ sets that he has be spinning on tour. Electronica godfather Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim recently gave away a rollicking mash-up of Adele & Donna Summer on his Soundcloud for free. Retitled "I Feel Love Rollin' In The Deep" , it was made for his DJ sets, and finally offered the answer to the question "What if Adele unleashed her inner Giorgio Moroder disco diva ?" .

Believe it or not Fatboy Slim is still in studio making jams and he recently dropped a mash up track featuring Adele and Donna Summer. The 49 year old DJ has been playing this track titled, "I Feel Love Rollin In The Deep," during his live sets and he wanted to put it online before he starts his tour in Brasil next year. You can find more detailed tour info here . Download: Fatboy Slim - I Feel Love Rollin In The Deep
Ahead of the beginning of the start of his Brazilian tour next week, our man Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim ) gave us a little Christmas treat in the form of a cheeky little mashup of Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" and Adele' s "Rolling in the Deep." We normally have a pretty discriminating ear when it comes to mashups, but this is straight out of Fatboy's recent sets and we're liking the way in which he sews together these crooners' vocals and disco beats. Enjoy the free download below. You [...]

I don’t usually post up my setlists, but I enjoyed playing last night so much that I thought I’d really like to put it out there. In the past at Gigantic I think I’ve been prone to playing to the crowd, especially at Xmas when there are usually a ton of people who are only out once a year and might not have the broadest or deepest of musical taste. I have been guilty of straying a bit too close to the Lowest Common Denominator music at times, and to be honest it bothered me. Gigantic has been known for [...]

Adam Lambert and Kelly Rowland VH1 Divas 2012 is all about the genre of dance and there's no way to honor it than to recognize the late, great Donna Summer . To pay tribute to the diva Kelly Rowland , Keri Hilson and Adam Lambert graced the stage to perform some of her biggest hits. Kelly Rowland, looking much like a young Summer, started off the tribute performance with " Bad Girls ." Keri Hilson then appeared on stage to sing " She Works Hard For The Money ." [...]

As we all know, there's nothing more relevant than the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. How else would we remember and recognize the greatness of bands like Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, and the Clash if not for such an institution? And what better captures rock and roll's spirit of youthful defiance than the Hard Rock Cafe a museum in Cleveland? But I digress. The RNRHOF's 2013 inductees have been announced, and they are: Read More...

Like it or not, popular culture lived in a swirl of polyester and strobe lights in 1978, camped out on the disco dance floor for the better part of the year. The Bee Gees ruled the airwaves, of course, but there were other sounds emanating from Studio 54 and the like. Here are the Top 10 Dance Songs that had booties shakin' in '78.

Running down the list of accomplishments that John Acquaviva can lay claim to is a daunting task. If for no other reason than he’s been going strong for more than two decades—his career kicked off at the end of the ‘80s with Richie Hawtin when the two launched the esteemed imprint, Plus 8 Records. Since that time Acquaviva has produced and released a gaggle of anthems and more than a few chart topping tunes and has travelled around the world entertaining dancefloors. Acquaviva also runs Definitive Recordings where he champions the new generation of EDM culture producers. 1. [...]
