Another belter of a Disco Deviance mix... this last one is provided by Dr. Dunks who has just released his very own Disco Deviance that we posted about a few days back. Definitely worth checking out. Also check out the Disco Deviance Pulse Radio page to stream all the past shows too! Disco Deviance Pulse Radio Show 12 - Dr Dunks Mix by Disco Deviance

Another class package from the Disco Deviance team who turn to Dr.Dunks for some edit treatment of big disco anthems. The doctor doesn't disappoint here at all with his On Your Knees and Dunks Got The Answer edits both ready to stomp the dancefloor to bits. I've been pretty naive on missing out on Name In Lights up until now, but I'm quite happy to present their brand new record for legendary Under The Shade . Don't get me wrong the originals on this record are absolutely great and I've no doubt this twelve inch will sell wonderfully, but the nu disco influenced house sound throughout just doesn't tick all the boxes for me. Love their use of the 303 in some instances though. Eddie Mars steps up to the plate and delivers a super remix for Touch The Sky, taking [...]

I hope the start of your week hasn't been too much of a hassle everybody, here is an hour and a bit full of monday evening listening thanks to Andrew Clarke . If you are a regular inhabitant of the now viral SoundCloud, you may have noticed this name popping up amongst the truckloads of disco edits on there. Kano - Can't Hold Back Your Loving (AC Re-Edit) by Andrew Clarke Unlike a vast majority, he provides relevant edits that thanks to his production sound [...]

New Years (and mainly Christmas) are fast approaching and the party anticipation is greatly brewing. Thankfully there are two amazing parties in Melbourne that would suffice for those who want a good time. For New Years eve, DJ Harvey is playing at the House de Frost which will be a great way to bring in the New Year. I know there is so much hype and let-down with the NYE kind of thing but this party is a fine exception. I'm pretty sure it is close to selling out so if you haven't got a ticket, I urge you to [...]
Dr Dunks Disco sounds kinda fun aye? Canyons signed to Modular earlier on this year, and can I just say that they are very very very good? Their first official single on Modular is My Rescue and you can stream it over on the Modular site and if you like, purchase it via itunes. It's a [...]

It's easy, or rather lazy, to pigeonhole any artist after hearing a single track. Obviously it's not a habit any of us want to admit to, but it can happen. Canyons are a perfect example of why this tactic can get you into trouble. Listen to their first single on DFA Records last year, "Fire Eyes," and you'll find yourself immediately loving or swiftly dismissing their strangely minimalist disco sound. The release was cast aside rather quickly, seeming to influence Canyons reinvention for their debut album on Modular , due out Q1 2011. Their first [...]

To celebrate the release of Canyons' debut single 'My Rescue' (watch the video here ), Modular is giving away as a free download Dr. Dunks', aka Eric Duncan of Rub N' Tug fame, disco reworking of the track. Grab it now! Canyons - "My Rescue" (Dr Dunks Disco Extension) Download it here .

Canyons ' story is one that can be traced back to the Nether Valley in the outer regions of the Western Australian landscape. Ryan Grieve and Leo Thomson began making music separately, under various guises, before coming together as Canyons. 'Hole in the Sky', the record label the two founded together, was their initial musical point of contact and the coming together of their creative minds. Remixing the likes of Ladyhawke, the Juan Maclean, !!! and Tame Impala, Canyons caused a stir at home which was echoed across the pond in the US and Europe. Following on [...]
Modular group Canyons had their excellent single "My Rescue" packaged up into a remix set finished up and it's available now, and the first taster is from the Rub 'n' Tug giant Dr Dunks aka Eric Duncan. The song is expanded and taken out of its psych rock/indie boundary, pushed into a disco pop terrain. [...]

If your heading to your local discotheque over the weekend, let the following tunes be your aural accompaniment. Dr Dunks is another alias of Eric Duncan (Rub 'n' Tug), his most recent release contains this sublime rework of Dolly Parton's 1983 recording 'Potential New Boyfriend'. Disco Nirvana. Keep your eyes on Discog's for the 12". Dr. Dunks- No P's (Download) The prolific Roof Light continues his marvelous 2010 with a couple of smart edits to share. The Garage/Dubstep/Whatever producer turns his hand to the disco with [...]

So we released a record today!! To save your eyes from bleeding I'll keep quiet on the promo front and just say you can listen to and buy the CD on our Bandcamp - it's certainly not disco but it's a very special EP indeed. Also check out our freshly launched Death Strobe website . It seems rather bizarre actually having a finished product out there after so many months of toiling and tooling around! Here's a little slice to sample - Rio Lobotomy 's remix which had a bit of a Discodeine vibe going on [...]
