Jamie Isaac - Wash / Can See (Housewarming Records) Last Friday, I played a show with my band Kinnie The Explorer at Cafe Oto in Dalston. Not only was the show a secret warm-up gig for Irish psychedelic folk band Dr Strangely Strange (playing under the pseudonym Mountains Of The Mind ), but it was also the debut show for London's rising talent Jamie Isaac. The seventeen-year old is a solo artist with an accomplished young band behind him, allowing his reverb-soaked piano songs to float in amongst the subtleties of [...]

Do you, like me, peek into the grocery baskets of other shoppers, curious about their lives? I'm terrible for this. I'm also addicted to surreptitiously spying into people's windows, to see the domestic innards of their houses. Although I don't hide in hedges, or wear an anorak, and keep it strictly to kitchens and living rooms, it's probably not the healthiest little habit to have. But I can't help it. There is something about a lit-up room when viewed from the street that fascinates me enough to regularly interrupt my walks. The tendency is at its worst [...]

The Jukebox is back with another shuffle from the lost generation. A bit of folk, a smattering of psych and even delving into some hard rock classics. [MP3] Dragonfly - Blue Monday A hard slab from Dragonfly with a pummeling bass and some classic fuzz, topped off with the classic bravado of hard rock vocals. Drives like a two ton truck straight into your speakers and there's no shame in that. [MP3] Dr. Strangely Strange - When Adam Delved [...]
