Highly amusing write up from cannabisculture.com : The Mecca for beautiful people during the Summer of Love was San Francisco – where you had to be sure to wear flowers in your hair – and the city's most revered precinct was the Haight-Ashbury district, where flower power had first been fomented in the "happenings" chronicled by Tom Wolfe in The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test. LSD provided the inspiration for free-form events at which rock groups performed lengthy improvisations before back-projections of swirling colors while the audience would loon around wildly, [...]

Please enjoy some new blends from DZUSA and friends. I especially like the first Frontline-based track. It has one of my favorite hip hop lines ever. Front Line - If You're Going to SF, Bang it (NYNEX blend) Beastie Boys - Shake Your Fa Fa (DZUSA blend) DJ Khaled - Takin' Over D.A.N.C.E. (JAMF blend) Rihanna - 'Taint Taint-Tainted Yo! (NYNEX blend) Nelly Furtado - In the Right Rooms (DZUSA blend)
(Shake your ass. Show me what you got.) That's right Street Fighter fans, Hadouken! is a band from the UK that rocks the genre-bending dancehall madness with great trans-Atlantic cross-over potential. We don't really care if they're indie or rave or whatever, just so long as they've got fireballs firing out of their hands. Hadouken - That Boy That Girl Listen: Hadouken! - That Boy [...]
Will the scientist, aka mastermind of all things DraculazombieUSA , is working hard out on the left coast to make earholes happy. He has for you a tasty treat in the form of a new hot party mix called " Nice Fixtures ." It's already gotten some love from the likes of Gorilla Vs. Bear (I know, Chris got to it before me and I'm in the 'band'!) DraculazombieUSA - "Nice Fixtures!" Looks like the new record is coming along and hopefully we'll have a new [...]
DraculaZombieUSA We leave you this evening with this 30+ minute-long kickass new mix by "bi-coastal indie collective" DraculaZombieUSA , featuring remixes/blends of tracks from T.I., Spank Rock, Hot Chip, Jay-Z, MSTRKRFT, Three 6 Mafia, Dizzee Rascal, and more. I realize the tone of this nice place is often mature, subdued, and reflective. At the risk of dashing this much appreciated tone, I give you the DraculaZombieUSA (West Coast Solution) super party time dance mix, "Nice Fixtures." It's just under 37 minutes, and features blends, remixes, blends of remixes, and remixes of remixes. Yay. Download the thing YSI or straight MP3 Image Credit: Karthik Pandian
So what's a band to do when graduate school calls, and the answer ends up coming from the other side of the country? Since we all know breaking up is hard to do, DraculaZombieUSA have decided to tough it out and do the long-distance thing for a while, and just see how it works. They have geographically split left coast (DZUSA - the West Coast Solution) and right coast (DZUSA - the East Coast Annex), but continue to make music and play shows (now as two independent units of a single machine). This is all good [...]

Photos by Devon Banks , and myself. I'm not sure why it's taken me a dozen days to recount the oddball line-up at the last version of the Beg Yr Pardon concert series, this time doubling as a birthday shin-dig for BYP co-founder D. It might be the information overload of the night's events, or general personal ennui. Enough two cents have already been thrown in to buy us all a bagel, so I'm under greater pressure to try and force my hazy [...]

Hey, how's it going out there? Boy, tell me about it. Already need a release valve to hold you over until you can begin destroying yourself in earnest again this weekend? Might I suggest a rock concert? Terrific. Tomorrow night down at the ol' watering hole known as the Delancey, sees the latest installment of our new old friends Beg Yr Pardon's concert series. Number nine...number nine...number nine...number nine, to be precise...to be precise...to be precise...Sorry. The line-up is a mixed nuts type display, headlined by the [...]
