I included a couple of Dream Cop tracks from his Mango EP in this Slow Magic/Beat Culture post this summer; you should check it out, he crushes some choice Pet Sounds samples among other beautiful noises. Anyways, I hadn't heard anything else from Blacksburg, VA's Dream Cop aka Tommy Davidson until a few minutes ago and booooom. 'Com Ocean,' i'm guessing, was co-produced by Davidson and either one or both of 'disco-noir' duo Outlands ' Mark Arciaga & Melissa Smith, with vox added by Smith. The beat flexes between coarse and sleek, moulding [...]

Electro pop artist Dream Cop joins forces with disco-noir duo Outlands to produce a track that's warm, sexy, and goes down smoothly like your favorite liquor of choice. And Outlands' Melissa Smith is quite the temptress; her smoky vocals are tantalizing and calming at the same time, a deliciously dangerous effect for any listener. Grab a free download below! Dream Cop & Outlands - Com Ocean

When collaborations between talented musicians are done right, the results can be pretty fantastic. With that in mind, we're proud to premiere "Com Ocean" which is the debut collaboration by electronic/experimental pop artist Dream Cop (Tommy Davidson) and disco-noir duo Outlands (Mark Arciaga & Melissa Smith). The track opens like a dystopian vision: bleak and populated only by desolate synths and Smith's brittle, porcelain vocals. With a sharp snap and clattering percussion the vibe grows decidedly more optimistic as the atmospheric jam rolls forward with a tumbling rhythm and a smoky, midnight-lit groove. Without a doubt, [...]
Continuing my dream jag that I'm currently moving into the dry heave stages of. Change the C to a P and you pretty much got their vibe. The first track is a builder, but I like where it goes, and the second is more an american take on the dream sound, but none the less washed in the gentle haze of dream-pain. http://soundcloud.com/dreamcop sounds http://toughloverecords.bandca mp.com/album/mango-ep Filed under: Free Downloads , MP3S , Music Tagged: 2011 , 2012 , [...]

It's basically summertime; it's time for Pet Sounds all the time. Beat Culture knows it. Slow Magic knows it. That's why they've collabo'd and put their production skills to a track, using those most seminal of Brian Wilson's lyrics from "That's Not Me," to create an electrified, pulsing summer dream of song. It's great, and it's free, and it's here. However, these two aren't the first, and won't be the last to praise the Beach Boys. Dream Cop did it last year with 'Beach City/Carol I Know' and our homie Teen Daze remixed it on [...]
I don't really know Dream Cop but I know I like this video. Some neato effects (and pretty good song too). A little creativity still goes a looong way.

THE VIDEOS THAT MADE MY WEEK w/Mosca, Exitmusic, Wildcat! Wildcat!, Van She, Dream Cop, and XXXY This week’s video selection is really exciting because every one of these acts has an upcoming release I am pumped about. Definitely take the time to check out all of these artists. April and May have some killer releases, these are just a few of them. Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! Mosca - Eva Mendes [...]
The week's two best videos both revolve around sticky nightmare realities where people act in ways that are entirely socially acceptable, and yet it looks like it might be vaguely fun to be in both groups of people. Maybe Justice's " Stress " video, or those original Die Antwoord clips, will turn out to be a bigger influence than anyone thought. But considering that one of the directors at work here is David Lynch, it's not really safe to play spot-the-influence. Watch this weeks' picks below. Read More...
New music from Dream Cop. Check out the video for his latest single “Nasdaq”, directed by Lucas Borras. A dark but high-energy video, mix of stop-motion & live action. **Summary** Go to website for downloads, videos & more.
[vimeo 39583593 640 305] What: Dream Cop, aka Virgina multi-instrumentalist Tommy Davidson, exports flashy electro pop that soothes the mind, burns the toes, and chatters the teeth. In the clip for his latest single "Nasdaq", Davidson bathes in a cloudy mess of bejeweled lights and fast-paced cutting. Directed by: Lucas Borras
A couple of weeks back, we posted an interesting electronic pop jam called " Nasdaq " by Virgina multi-instrumentalist Tommy Davidson, who goes by Dream Cop. Now, "Nasdaq" has its own video, a swirling, hi-fi clip that contains a lot of neat-looking stop-motion tricks. Lucas Borras directs. Watch it below. Read More...
Blacksburg, VA one-man-band Dream Cop’s "NASDAQ" plays like an apocalyptic interpretation of piano house, as if the music's reflected in crumbled building frames and shattered window panes. And so, befitting that fragmentation, Lucas Borrás has ... read more
Check out this beautifully intense electronic trip from Dream Cop (Tommy Davidson). I almost fell out of my chair with it...so be careful. Dream Cop Links: SoundCloud | Last.fm [go to the website to read the rest of the article, download mp3s and more]

mp3: Dream Cop - Nasdaq (via Stereogum ) Dream Cop first caught my attention back in 2010 with his experimental lo-fi sound. Now the Virginia-based multi-instrumentalist returns with the new single "Nasdaq". No official release date has been confirmed, but it is expected soon. While you're at it, check out his previous release Mango on bandcamp .
Virginia multi-instrumentalist Tommy Davidson - who goes by Dream Cop - dabbles in interestingly textured electronic pop. He's got a new single out, "Nasdaq," a stuttering uptempo track filled with piano loops and phrased around brief swatches of breaking-through-the-clouds vocals. Download it below. Read More...

Time for a little bit of aural time travel. Let's look back, reflect, and contemplate... what were we listening to one year ago? Listen to the February 2011 Mix and find out. You can stream (and scrobble ) all the songs in this mix using the ex.fm player at the bottom of the page OR you can just download any or all of the tracks at your leisure and play them using a digital media player of your choice. Today it's suddenly raining and maybe summer's over? It's raining in my head too: I'm not sure I like my new flat, I dislike the person I've reverted to, and, easily worst of all, I fear that my beloved but increasingly stressed partner may imminently deem me as flotsam she can do without. I hope not; I don't know what I'd do, alone again. On despairing days like these, you need a despairing song to match, and Dream Cop 's sweet remix of Welcome Back Sailors ' romance-fearer fits the bill. For Tough Love Records ' recent sampler, the tape-wizard [...]
