Dropkick Murphys - Live On Lansdowne, Boston MA CD/DVD Release date: March 16, 2010 [ amazon.com ] Being a former Bay Stater and having to see these guys more than I really wanted to, I feel obligated to include them here on AGD. That it came out a day before the holiday in which chronic alcoholics discover Irish heritage tucked away in their DNA and are allowed to celebrate it with abandon is purely coincidental.

I meant to post these songs yesterday in honor of St. Patrick's Day, but real life decided that was not to be. So let's try doing it this way: If you're waking up with a monster headache today, possibly in an unfamiliar place, probably missing an article or two of clothing, try using this batch of songs to jog your memory and put the pieces of your night back together. Dropkick Murphys - (F)lanigan's Ball (Live) U2 - Vertigo [...]
Ahh yes, Saint Patrick's Day. The day where everyone goes out, pretends they can jig, and gets ridiculiously wasted to celebrate the day this dude was stoned to death. I actually wound up going out, and the one good thing about St. Patrick's Day is that bars actually play tolerable music for once in their miserable existence. There was a lot of Dropkick Murphys played yesterday, and it

I considered a fair number of songs for this St. Patrick's Day post. Had I managed to get around to it earlier in the day, probably any one of them would have been apropos. But, seeing as it's going to be after 9 p.m. (EST) by the time this post sees daylight, the Dropkick Murphy's "Kiss Me I'm Shitfaced" seemed the most appropriate. Here in Miami, St. Patrick's isn't the event it is in other cities. Sure, there's green beer, and people wearing green, and bars with Irish names, but [...]
Like I said earlier today, there's no better way to celebrate St Patrick's Day than with the Dropkick Murphys (okay, a sober Shane MacGowan aside). So check out this video for the band's "I'm Shipping Up To Boston" from their brand new live DVD/CD set: Dropkick Murphys' website Dropkick Murphys' Myspace

If I'm going to hit you over the head with the same (awesome) St. Patrick's Day McMix two years running, the least I could do is add this Spike / Droopy soundbite to kick things off. Be sure to try my spin on green beer, Guinness Black & Green . Spike the dog "Shilialey" from Tex Avery Dropkick Murphys "Shipping Up to Boston" Thin Lizzy "Whisky In The Jar" Bud Light [...]

I remember my first Dropkick Murphys show very well. It was at the Fleet Pavilion (now Bank of America Pavilion) in Boston, which is literally on the water. It was a pretty unique experience. I was 14, the Sex Pistols were headlining (minus Sid Vicious) and my friend and I were brought there by my father, due to our ineligibility to drive. My father spent most of the game listening to the Red Sox, and then when he came to join us for the Murphys' set, some drunken Bostonian tried to punch him in the face. [...]

Yes that magical day has arrived once again. We decided to put this post up early because during the day we won't be able to type. In fact, we probably won't even be able to walk. So get out and enjoy your day of public drinking (and of course the ensuing shenanigans). Cheers! Drunken Lullabies - Flogging Molly Drinkin' Reel Big Fish [...]
Just in time for St. Patrick's Day, the Dropkick Murphys release the perfect soundtrack for the holiday, recorded live last year.

This month last year, the Irish-rooted punk rock act Dropkick Murphys (and one of our honest-to-God favorite live acts of all time) played seven shows in six days the week of St. Patrick's Day in their humble city of Boston,...

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , Video , Exclusive Massachusetts has plenty of fussy blue laws, but Dropkick Murphys singer Al Barr is reasonably sure there's no prohibition against his band sharing a stage with the Mighty Mighty Bosstones . Good thing: there's video evidence of their collaboration on a rowdy version of 'I'm Shipping Up to Boston.' It's from 'Live on Landsdowne, Boston, MA,' Dropkick Murphys' new CD/DVD set culled from seven performances in six days at the city's House of Blues to celebrate St. Patrick's Day [...]
